I can't believe it's almost the end of my fourth year here.

That means OWLs next year.

What's the good stuff about Fifth Year, anyway?

{>Everyone! I have an announcement.<}
{>I was just going to assign broom-making as something to know for class but then I had a splendid idea!<}
{>I've gotten permission to head up a fieldtrip down to the broom factory in Devon.<}
{>We'll get to see how they're made!<}
{>Any flyer should know about their broom so this is important for students in my class.<}
{>And afterwords I pulled a string or two and the Chudley Cannons agreed to stop by for a chat.<}
{>I wouldn't necessarily trust their Quidditch advice but they could use the publicity.<}
{>Not bad fellows the lot.<}
{>Anyway!<}
{>Anyone can come! You don't need to be in flying class.<}
{>But if you are in flying class you'll need to know this at some point!<}
{>Why not learn it the fun way?<}
{>I will have sign-ups posted outside the great hall until the day before.<}
{>Which is the 24th! So don't waffle too long!<}

[Dirk has glanced from his homework to the journal his uncle got him for over an hour now. Writing something in there sounded like a lot more fun than trying to catch up on assignments after missing so much school. He hasn't a clue of what to say, so he just rolls with the first thing that comes to mind.]

I can't wait for the school year to end.
It's getting ridiculously difficult to keep up with all of my assignments, especially knowing that in September, I start at Hogwarts.
Regular school work is boring in comparison to the idea of learning magic.
Plus, summer will be awesome for reasons.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else had trouble keeping their cauldrons from melting?
I know the melting issue shouldn't be too surprising since we generally use reactive materials, but you would think they'd design cauldrons with that in mind.

I'm just wondering if this is a common issue or if mine is especially volatile.
And if there's an effective way of reconstructing them. I've tried using a mending charm, but that didn't work very well.
