So, after reading through the journals network, I have reached one conclusion.

... I have no idea what's going on. I mean, I know what's happening now, but I'm missing so much context I may as well know nothing.

So, if anyone would be so kind as to give me some cliff notes, I'd really appreciate it.

Well, as your fellow Hufflepuff, welcome to Hogwarts. Don't go near Peeves, the lizard of guilt is real, and no, the giant squid in the lake doesn't drown people, it helps them out. Most people are friendly, with the exception of some unsavoury sort that you should keep away from. Other than that it's a lovely school and so long as you keep your head down and do your work on time, you'll be fine.

Apparently its this ghost lizard that follows you around reminding you when you do something wrong. I haven't had it happen to me yet, but I've heard it's bloody irritating and annoying.

A bunch of students have tried getting rid of it, but no one seems to have had any success, so just don't do anything too stupid and you won't have to deal with it.

There are lots of unexplainable stuff in Hogwarts, even for the students who aren't Muggleborn. Try not to think too hard about it.
