Good evening and welcome back to Hogwarts!

It is my dearest regret to say that due to recent storms, Gryffindor and Ravenclaw towers have undergone a severe amount of damage. While we work to put them back into tip top living shape, in the meantime our houses will have to get a bit closer than you're used to. Gryffindor will be staying in the Hufflepuff dorms, while Ravenclaw will share with Slytherin house. The repairs are estimated to finish in a week's time.

I ask that instead of focusing on the negatives, you should instead focus on the positives! After all, what better time for a little house unity? I trust the Prefects and Heads of House to set a good example for the rest of the students and to make the best out of a seemingly bad situation.

It's so crazy about what happened to the towers, right? Imagine if it'd happened while we were all inside them! Thank goodness. I hope our beds aren't gonna be all soggy and mildewy from the rain now.

But staying with Hufflepuff could be fun! It's like a sleepover.

... Too bad about Ravenclaws. Sorry Maddie.

I just wanted to greet all the Gryffindors and welcome them to the Hufflepuff dorms. Unofficially, really, since I'm doing this over the journals, but I think it's more effective than trying to get the whole common room's attention.

I'm a Hufflepuff prefect, and will be happy to help out anyone from either house who needs anything at all!
