✍ Fourth Letter

Has anyone seen a crested gecko? He's about six inches long, and he's purple. Well, they're normally orange but he got into a little accident when he was a baby. He answers to Spike. That is, if he answers at all. I mean, he doesn't really come when you call him, but he usually perks his head up when I call his name.

Reptiles are cold-blooded, so I'm worried about him wandering around the castle by himself when it's so cold out. He might have gotten lost somewhere and not had enough body heat to get back. If it gets too cold they'll just shut down and hibernate, but his tank is always toasty so his body wouldn't be prepared for that. If I don't find him soon he could starve to death!

I'll keep an eye out.

[Because if it was his toad...]

What on Earth happened to make him purple?
donutsanddestiny: (wait... I mean...)

Understandable. I hope it doesn't have any side-effects.

There are worse colors for a gecko to be, anyway. Orange or yellow would have been an eyesore.

The bright colours are usually connected to being -- or giving the appearance of being -- poisonous, isn't it?
donutsanddestiny: (oh yes)

Sounds like an interesting sight.

So, are you generally this knowledgeable, or have you just researched the crested gecko because of, ah, Spike?
donutsanddestiny: (curious)

[personal profile] donutsanddestiny 2012-01-22 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I can understand that. Pets are... Well. Odd. In a good way. Having a little life to take care of makes things a bit different.

Do you now? Sometimes I feel like Billy and I are the only ones, even with the Ravenclaws.
donutsanddestiny: (oh yes)

[personal profile] donutsanddestiny 2012-01-22 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
There really is -- I can't understand not being fascinated by it.
donutsanddestiny: (explaining)

Read, practice, experiment, discuss -- When there's someone worth talking to.
donutsanddestiny: (curious)

Again, it's just a matter of finding the people who are knowledgeable.
donutsanddestiny: (bored)

I don't really talk to authority figures.

I wouldn't worry so much, Twilight!
yourseoulmate: (YOU GET A GOLD STAR!)

Wherever he is, I'm sure he's safe and sound! He probably just decided to go on an adventure.

Also, just curious, what do geckos eat?
yourseoulmate: (OH COME ON)

[personal profile] yourseoulmate 2012-01-22 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
... sooo... probably unlikely to accept kimchi? If I were to dip into my private stash in an attempt to lure him out, I mean.

Like I said, he's probably fine! I'm sure he'll turn up in the morning.
yourseoulmate: (ImaginaaAAAaation!)

[personal profile] yourseoulmate 2012-01-22 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well, as long as he can handle vegetables and a whole lot of spice, he should be fine. If I use it as bait.

I'm confident that all will be well! I know what I'm doing talking about here. Sometimes my cat decides to wander around, but I don't let it worry me since I know he's just exploring his world! You like research, so shouldn't you be glad Spike is probably doing some of his own?

.... speaking of research, do cats eat geckos?
