Salve Students.

I hope you all enjoyed your break and that your return means you will all be focusing on the work that needs to be done before exams and not other silly things. This is the time to be serious and focus properly. Who knows perhaps those of you that haven't been will be able to catch up and actually manage to pass.

As you may or may not be aware, the leaving of High Inquisitor Snow means that I will be taking all Herbology classes. Ravenclaw and Gryffindor students, you shouldn't be too far apart from my original students, but please if you feel the need to speak to me due to a lack of understanding make an appointment with me and we'll talk it out.

As for homework, I'll be nice. I want each student to write me a report of a plant that grows in winter, near where they call home. Obviously this will mean a lot of overlap between many of the British students, but that doesn't mean you'll be able to get away with cheating. Trust me, I'll be able to tell.

Finally, I'm looking for volunteers who'd like to help me rip down the vines the High Inquisitor left around my Greenhouses. Anyone interested to come to Greenhouse One on Saturday after lunch. I'll be giving housepoints to anyone who does, and they'll be hot drinks. Surely that sweetens the deal enough?

Did you need to discuss anything to do with the change in teachers?

The very same! I am sure you will become familiar with it soon!

Not at all, but I am pleased! You are marginally less scary than Professor Snow.

I'm sure. Especially from what I've already heard of you.

I had no idea I had such a reputation! I must say I am pleased.

I'm glad you think so! I am also glad he is gone!

...If I was you I wouldn't be so pleased. Not all reputations are glowing ones.

I think many are. He was... a challenge to work with.

I cannot be ashamed of such an accurate one. Besides, if you have a reputation it only means you are popular enough to be discussed!

That is quite an understatement! He was awful-- can he still see this?

... That's an interesting way of looking at it I suppose. Though if you admit it's accurate I might have something to worry about.

No, he can't, he would have handed his journal in upon leaving. And yes, he was. But it's not appropriate to talk so about some adults and I don't want you to get the wrong impression here.

I cannot confirm or deny anything! We shall have to find out for oursevles.

I imagined so, I only wondered if he had some sort of ministry power that meant he could watch us forever and always. I would not put it past him.

Ah, yes miss. Sorry miss.

...At least promise me you won't cause any explosion. The often frighten the plants, if they don't simply destroy them.

I'm sure he has more important things to do within the ministry then spy on schoolchildren, Mr Odinson. Even if he had the desire I doubt their would be the time.

I am not so sure about that, but I shall take your advice and be silent.

Trust me, the amount of times I've seen my brothers screw up something that shouldn't be a problem is ridiculous. Better to just take precautions and give warnings.

You are begining to sound like my own brother, actually. He is constantly marvelling at my ability to make a simple task into a difficult--

He is younger than I am! It is rather emasculating. Besides! I am perfectly well behaved, more so than him.

That is good!

Younger, older, it really doesn't matter. Yes, you probably should be the one taking care of him, but sometimes I've heard the younger are the more sensible. And you may not be poorly behaved but you are rather... enthusiastic.

He has a reputation for playing pranks but he regards himself as the more mature of the two of us. I remain unconvinced! But he has managed to trick many mutual friends and professors.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ENTHUSIASM!!

Has he? Well I'll make a note of that too. Let him know I won't be tolerating hat from him either, will you? This is one professor he shan't trick.

I imagine, was this verbal, that would be quite overtly loud, wouldn't it.

I am sure he will keep his tricks to himself around you, miss. You are very scary.

What is enthusiasm if it is not loud?

I'm not scary. I'm... stern. [she is a delicate non scary maiden gosh!!!]

I'm sure you can be bother enthused and quiet. Most of us can manage that.

If that is what you would prefer to be known as I am happy to refer to you as such. Though I do not believe there is much of a difference...

True enthusiasm cannot be contained! It is a fact of life.

There's a difference. [One makes her seem less horrid.]

...You sound like my younger siblings when you say such things. You're... what a 4th year? Perhaps it's just that age then.
