[Her face flushes in embarrassment and she looks down at her feet] Yea...I'm sorry. I was doing something real dumb and [she gestures towards the fountain, trying to come up with a believable lie] climbing it. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

...Climbing it? Well, I uhm. Yeah, that's not smart, girly. But it's okay, I've been working on my nonverbal spells. Let's see if I've caught on any, hmm~?

[Alfred doesn't call her out on the lie entirely. Instead he tugs his wand from his robes, and kneels by Nepeta's boots, flicking his wand and concentrating hard.

Well...it's working~ Just a little slower than normal.]

Hmm. Need practice.

[She stands still as he does his work and her eyes widen a bit. She had seen some teachers use nonverbal magic but Al is the youngest.]

Wow! You know how to cast spells without words? That's purrty amazing. I've never been able to figure out how that works.

[She rocks a bit on her boots to see how they feel. A tad moist still, but definitely a lot better than they had been before.]

Thank you.
allamericanreject: (Alright!)

You're welcome! We have to learn how to do it for class, it's apparently not easy! But I'm pretty kickass in Charms and Defense against the Dark Arts, so it's pretty easy to catch on for me. I can't do Transfiguration worth a shit though, I really need to work on that for my career.

But if you were curious, you basically have to cast it in your head. The spell I mean. Here, let me see the rest of your things...

[She holds out her books to him, genuinely curious]

What is it that you want to be?

[He concentrates on drying Nepeta's books for a few moments before he responds.]

An Auror.

[She watches them dry with relief. He just saved her quite a bit of money there.]

Thank you soooo, so much! And if that's the case I really do suggest the club. Considering that Cursebreakers and Aurors share a lot of the same OWLS and NEWTS I think it'd be helpful. It'll be lots of fun too, purromise.

It's always fun to learn magic! Well, you know. Except for History and Transfiguration. And Potions. I'm pretty bad at those.

[He flips the books open, just as relieved to see that the ink's intact and the pages aren't too bad off.]

You're welcome, hon! Any help I could offer a fellow student, y'know~? Keep in touch 'bout that club thing, I'm all for it since it's definitely helpful to my career~
