As many of you would have seen, assuming you do possess the skills of basic reading comprehension, Hogwart's now possess two Herbology teachers. Which to be frank, I am glad of, as dealing with all of you would likely give me wrinkles far too early. Slytherin and Hufflepuff you will be reporting to me, and Gryffindor and Ravenclaw will be under the eye of Inquisitor Snow. No ifs or buts.

Now as for Homework, I have looked over the quizes I set on the first day back and I see that like I expected barely any of you seemed to actually study. So obviously to combat that I will need to set more stricter homework, and anyone who doesn't hand it in on it's due date with it fulfilling all it's requirements can expect a detention.

First years, I expect 8 inches on one of the most common plants discussed in your textbooks. Discuss where it is commonly found, what it is traditionally used for, and potential side effects it can have if used incorrectly.

Second years we will be studying Mandrakes as many of you may have assumed. As such I want 10 inches on the growth cycle of a mandrake, it's common uses, and the side effects it can have.

Third years I want a foot on the uses of the seeds of a Puffapod. Yes they are known for flowering instantly upon touching the ground, but there is more to them than beauty.

Fourth we will soon begin studying Bubotuber's and as such I want at least a foot on the correct method to harvests this plant's pus, and what the pus can be used for.

Fifth years yes this is an important year as we have all told you. Consider it also the potential last year I will ever have to deal with you,  if you do not intend on pursing a career that needs a NEWT in Herbology. I'm sure some of us will be very glad of this parting and I know in some cases I will be positively gleeful. But for the meantime, I want 30 inches on topics we have previously studied. If some of you are stuck and have not absorbed any information like I assume, then look up and see the homework I have set for grades below you for ideas.

Sixth and seventh years, you have elected to stay with me. Hopefully this is because you show actual interest in the topic and not just because you feel you need attempt it. As such, sixth years, pick a topic that we have previously studied and write me at least 20 inches on the subject. I want something that I feel could be good enough to go into a textbook, but trust me I'll know if it's been copied from anywhere. Seventh, I want you to find a plant that isn't native to the UK region, and write me an essay of 25 inches on it. Uses, it's time of discoveries, any side effects it has, the basics. Again, I'll know how many of you actually did the effort into it.

Aside from sixth and seventh years, I expect all these to be returned to me in two weeks. Sixth years I want yours in three, and seventh have till this time next month. Failure to hand it in will result in a very serious discussion as to why you feel you are too good for my assignments.

I want both of you to keep your heads down around the Inquisitor. You both have his classes after all. Lovino if I hear one word of misbehaviour from you I promise my punishment will be much worse than his could ever be.

Watch what you say, watch how you act. And don't trust him.

Has the Inquisitor bothered you yet?

I will take good care of it for sure. I will hold it carefully using both my hands as I observe it carefully.

Probably not the meaning of life. I doubt I will find it by staring at a Puffapod but like I hope to get a pretty good grade on your homework.

[That's good. It will be a real honor.]

If by chance I do, I will be sure to mention that it was because of your help.

[He doesn't have any real plans for it. He might just show it to his friends and when he finally grows bored he will return it.]

I understand! I'll be there first thing in the morning.

[It isn't bad to be suspicious. He will try not to get carried away with it. But come on how cool is it that he can get something from his teacher (even if it is only temporary).]

Yes. I'll totally be there. [Because he wasn't going to miss out on this.]

ooc: log or continue here? or just assume he got it. or however you wish miss.

[Well he isn't the worst. He would never allow himself to get carried away too far on most occasions.]

Can I take the best one?

ooc: I can put up a log if you wish. It'll probably be good to do so.

[That was all fine.]

We'll see, we'll see.
