009 You Found My Weakness... It's Small Knives!

I obsess about things – guilty as charged. If you've ever seen my room, I’m always juggling a few projects... and some of them have been going for quite some time. As you also probably know, I ask a lot of questions; well, there's been one question sort of bugging me.

What were the first people thinking when they clap? Now I know what you're thinking: "Peter, shut up and go to bed." But really!

Who thought to stand there and smack their hands together to create noise to cheer for someone or something?

Anyone know if it even started out as cheering?

Maybe cave people just liked loud noises when they were happy.

Parker, upon final analysis of your findings, please forward your conclusions into the further study of by what means two gentlemen decided to clap each other’s single hand in the air as a congratulatory device.

Clapping their hands would make it louder and encourages people to do better. It lets them know that they're cheering for them?

I think is started out with banging hands on tables as a form of agreement.

I'm not sure, but if I were to guess, I'd say that clapping was probably used as a sort of signal back when humans were in their hunter/gatherer phase.

Whatever the case, it is a very interesting question.

Do you not ever fucking sleep or something? How are you still functioning?
