Is Valentines really a big deal around here at all? I mean, are there events for it like a dance or a themed feast or something?

I've heard of Muggle schools doing stuff like fundraisers of sending candy or flower-grams. You can buy candy or a flower and have it sent to the person of your choice either anonymously or you can attach a note. I always thought it would be a cool idea to try for a fundraiser for the Music Club.

If we had a wider variety of instruments and sheet music I thought maybe we could get more members that way.

Tell me more about these muggle school valentine traditions.

Well, I've seen in movies that some schools do fundraisers like sell chocolates or you can send candy or flower grams and things like that.

Whatever organization is doing the fundraiser sets up a table in their dining hall and people can go up and purchase them and they have the choice of whether or not to send a message or make it a secret.

And you would have these sorts of things flown in? You have outside, muggle resources?

Well, I'm a halfblood..I have a television when I'm back home. I'm also a musician. I play guitar at both wizard and Muggle venues so I get to see a lot about each culture.

Let's put it this way: A large group of adolescents are gathered together in one place. Of course it's a big deal here.

Funny how I haven't heard many people talking about it or making plans for the holiday though.

There's been plenty related to it on the journals. The love potion stuff, for example.

Hmm thats true. Thats less of an event and more people being dumb though.

It's holiday-centered dumbness.
Not that people don't have the capacity to be generally unintelligent.

That tends to be the worst kind too. Ever try and go out close to Christmas? It's ridiculous.

True..I try not to judge but sometimes I wonder.

Don't even need to go out, you just turn on the radio or some shit. Completely inescapable.

And they shove it down your throat earlier and earlier each year it seems.
Last year I was out on Halloween night and I heard Christmas music inside a store. Unfreaking believable.

That's about the whole of it.
At least at school there's less chance of pervasive holiday music.

The Music Club has to play some of it for the dances though so I can't really fully escape it ever.
I try to mix it up or play interesting remixes of holiday songs though so we all don't die of boredom.
