[Then comes the hugging and muffled words.]

[And sudden pigtailed girl launching herself at him.]

[Apparently holding onto Kid didn't stop her shaking any, as she's still shaking and beating at his chest with her fists.]

[Now he is being beat on.]

[Not sure if he should stop the fists but he is putting his hands on her shoulders at least.]

[It...stops...eventually but she ends up leaning against him again.]

[He could feel her shaking. And he remembered how upset she looked when she saw him.]

[And then the holding.]

[But she's certainly not backing away from the hugs. It seems more like she wants to stay there for a while.]

I wish you didn't...go off to places where I can't see you so much.

[Not that she really knows what she means. Nor can she ever even begin to explain it.]

I can't help worrying about you even if you did promise that you wouldn't get into a fight with him again. I was so afraid something happened to you...that you got hurt again. Why can't you just not question it and hold me? Dumbass.

[He could do the holding until she stopped shaking. And longer, even.

The worrying was clearly about more than just saying he'd keep away.]

[He'd said that. But be with...seemed like more than just hanging out by the lake or doing homework together in the Great Hall. It seemed like a different sort of closeness that he only shared with Maka.]

[He was looking down at her now; he'd gotten taller than her over the years. Maybe that was why he had to lean down a bit when his head started to tilt towards hers.]

Speaking of that...I still need to finish up that thirteenth page for my Transfiguration essay. I'll see you later, Kid.
