For those of you curious as to who, exactly, I am, I'm your new Charms instructor. You may call me Professor Matteris.

[OH THAT STAMMER he's almost gleeful. Pity he's too caught up in being horribly embarrassed for no reason.

He tightens his lips and nods sharply, freezing in the spot.]

Still usin' nicknames, are we?

[When she finally realizes what she said, she flushes darkly, glaring at him.]

I try not to use them for people who don't matter, but I guess I was just so surprised to see you.

You weren't expectin' to see me? I figured you of all people would've done your research.

That's not what I meant! I know you work here, I'm not stupid. I just...

You've gotten taller.

[shellfishlovver]

I'm sure that comes as a huge surprise considerin' we haven't seen each other in ten or so years.

You've gotten..[Gorgeous, attractive, sexy, curvy. Fuck. No. What's a word what'sawordwhat'saword.]

More like seventeen.

[She takes a deep breath, letting it out in a sigh.]

My hair was longer in seventh year.

I said or so. I was guessin'. [fuck math.]

Oh, was it? It seems forgot. [Which comes as a massive fucking surprise.]

[arachnoble]

Or so tends to imply short periods of time. Not seven years on top of what you guessed.

It was. It was much longer.

[She picks at the hem of her pants awkwardly, not sure if she should stand up or not.]

How did you get your scars?

[shellfishlovver]

Right. Well you haven't gotten any taller then.

[He reaches up to touch one of them but ends up flattening his hand against his face and pretends he's rubbing his cheek.]

Work.

[arachnoble]

[She stands after a moment, stepping towards Murdoc cautiously.]

They don't...look bad. I guess.

[She's suddenly self-conscious, and she tries to brush hair over her blind eye.]

Perhaps. I don't mind them. Battle wounds are somethin' to be proud of, afterall.

[He straightens a little, enjoying the fact that he's quite a bit taller than her now.]

So, you needn't cover that up.

[arachnoble]

Only if you won the battle.

[She closes her eyes briefly, sighing again and looking up at him. Damn him for getting taller.]

I can't see out of it anyways.

[shellfishlovver]

I feel like they add character to my face.

[He quirks an eyebrow at her.]

How did it happen?

[arachnoble]

They certainly add...something.

A fight. Dark wizard, was on the job. He cast a nasty spell, and...took my eye and my arm from it.

[She glances down at her hands, curling her prosthetic one in a fist.]

So you were an auror as well?

[He reaches out his hand for her hand, curious about the metallic looking fingers.]

May I?

[arachnoble]

I was, yes.

[She raises her hand, pushing up her sleeve.]

It goes up to my shoulder. It was a very clear obliteration, but you can touch.

[He takes her hand in his and lifts her arm, using his other hand to get a feel of it. In his curiousity, he has no idea how strange he's acting.]

Did you win?

[arachnoble]

Of course! I never lose.

[She stares at him curiously, not certain if she should pull her arm back.]

I passed out shortly after, though, so my victory was short lived. I was lucky I was found in time.

What's a career without a few near death experiences?

[He lets her hand drop.]

I am certain that teachin' will be a bore for you.

[arachnoble]

Certainly not a career I'd want to have.

[She wraps her arm around herself, eying him.]

Maybe it's time for something boring. Don't want to get burnt out or anything.

[Now he's starting to wonder if something is the matter, or if he's said something wrong. It's strange seeing her so ...vunerable. Years ago he might have wanted to take advantage of that, now he's begining to feel protective of her.

It's funny, he never realised how much he'd missed her until he finally came face to face with her again.

For now he's going to clear his throat and try to continue the conversation.]

So, charms?

[arachnoble]

[She nods, straightening a bit and trying to regain a bit more control. She knew Murdoc would be here, but...she hadn't predicted their reunion would be like this.]

I was always the best in class, so it seemed fitting.

[shellfishlovver]

[He half smiles at that.]

Maybe so, but I was always better at the more important classes.

[arachnoble]

[She rolls her eye, punching him in the shoulder with a short laught.]

There's no class more important than charms!

[shellfishlovver]

[He grunts and slumps a bit because FUCKING OW METAL ARM. He tries to brush it off but he knows that's going to bruise.

With his non-injured arm he's going to reach out and flick her forehead.]
