So, I guess I'm your captain this year. I say it's high time Hufflepuff got a bit of gold and glory for Quidditch. I know that some of you are thinking of trying out for the team; if you'd like, I could take a look at what you've got on Sunday, just to let you know what you can work on before the actual tryouts itself. They'll be on the 15th and 16th, so you've got time to work on your game. Any other questions, pass them to me and I'll do my best to answer.

Let's try to make this the year Hufflepuff holds up the Quidditch Cup, yeah?

You haven't gone and upset everyone. If you ask me, she just needs some time. Normally kissing someone is a really emotional moment. I think if she feels bad for what she did she'll soon realise that what you did was to help her.

Give it a week? Not only that but with the school being all out of sorts and everyone's having to invade everyone else's space, it's going to be even worse.

It's not only that. I mean, she doesn't even realise that kissing him was a bad idea.

And Maxim punched me.

Oh, Greg, really. You aren't the one messing up here. I'm half tempted to give that Maxim a good piece of my mind. What was he thinking hitting you? This is just ridiculous!

I don't think she did. She kept saying that it was her fault, that I should be yelling at her, but she thought I should be yelling at her for Van's sake. I was just trying to look out for her.

I nearly hit him back. I was just so angry. I don't reckon I've been that livid in awhile. I'm not proud of myself.

This really is quite a situation, Greg.

I really believe you should stay away from both of them for the time being. In case something else ends up happening. Because if you get any more hurt, Arthur might end up getting involved because he's fond of you.

I know you want what's best for both of them but, keeping your nose out for the moment is the only way to keep your nose from possibly bleeding more.

Yeah, that's another thing. I don't want Arthur finding out about this. I dunno about Maxim, but I'm not breathing a word to him. He doesn't need the extra stress.

I'll do that. He nearly knocked out one of my teeth already; I had to go see the Healer in the morning to get that corrected.

Well he's certainly not going to hear about it from me. That is for sure.

Oh Greg, you need to be more careful in future.

Thanks Victoria. For that, and for your advice. I know I have a bit of a temper and a mouth. I don't mean it, but I just end up shooting myself in the foot too often. I'll definitely work on it but thanks for listening.

Keep shooting yourself in those feet, you'll have none left to shoot.

And it's not a problem, I don't know how much help I was. However, you're Arthur's friend and I'm far better to talk to about things like this than he is. Because he can be impossibly thick at times.

I think I'm on my last legs in my relationship with Maxim, Van and the girl, so to speak.

You're a great help, and I do mean it. S'nice to know I can trust someone to think things through instead of just jumping into things, which is what I do. Not all the time, but. Well, you've seen how bad it can get.

I'm sure everything will work out, a little optimism never hurt anyone.

Well unfortunately I haven't managed to arrange something better to do this Saturday. So I guess I don't really have a choice to be anything other than 'up for it'.

[She smirking at the book. Now the heart to heart is over she can go back to teasing him.]

Victoria, I booked the field specifically for you and Arthur. And given how popular Quidditch is getting this year, I do think you'll need a little leg-up over the other try outs.

Remember to wear robes you don't mind getting dirty or will get in the way.

[Partly because he doesn't know how Victoria takes to Flying; she might be slightly self-conscious and that wouldn't be helped if there were others around staring at her.]

It can get a little messy when too many people are on the field, especially if the Seekers are out practising.

[Oh what. What is this. He...doesn't really know who to reply? Victoria's always been teasing him that when something looks like an actual compliment, he's not even sure whether she's serious or not. He rolls with it being a real compliment, just because he'd rather be made a fool off than accidentally insult her by implying her statement meant otherwise.]

Well, it's nothing really. Nobody had booked anything yet, so it was pretty easy, and I thought you and Arthur might've preferred to not have people around.

Arthur would be terribly embarrassed if he makes a mistake for everyone to see.

He doesn't need to be. He's plenty good at what he does well in. He's got good spellwork, and a great attitude towards learning.

That doesn't mean he doesn't slip up.

No, but I guess he shouldn't be so hard on himself.

He's always hard on himself. That's just how he is.

I suppose. It just seems strange to me; he's a lot better at things than I am. I wish I had half his talent.

Not every great talent is supremely confident in their abilities.
