☠ 002

So i know this book of monsters is meant to have a bit of an attitude problem.
But the blasted thing has stolen my shoe.
I believe i can get it to abandon it by dangling my second one but i can only be in one place at one time.
So im not quite sure how to go from dangling the bait to retrieving my other shoe without losing something more important than the first shoe.
Any suggestions?

[For anyone in the Gryffindor boys' dorm, Jake has spent the last hour or so standing on his bed and trying various methods of reclaiming his lost shoe from under it with the vicious book. Naturally, he's warned any of his bunkmates of the danger, but that doesn't mean he's had any better luck getting the thing to relinquish his shoe.]

Maybe you could toss something in the middle of the floor and when the book goes for it, stun the book.

I can't answer that for sure but I reallydon't see why you would..it's not a student or anything and technically it belongs to you.

I really hope you wouldn't get in trouble for trying to get your property back from your other property. That would be pretty dumb.
Well, when you get ahold of it, pet it on it's spine. That will calm it down.

If stunning doesn't work, you might try tossing something at it and when it's distracted you could always jump on top of it to hold it still maybe too.

Oh, and when you finally get ahold of it you might want to use a belt or something to bind it shut.

I don't get why a book would want to even eat shoes. I mean, where would what it ate even go?

I was going to say..there's enough around here to worry about without adding pooping books to it.

I'm Marshall Lee and I don't think we have. I'm a fifth year in Slytherin.

Ah I see. Huh, it never really occured to me to call anyone under the age of 18 or so mister.

Thanks. I like it here a lot so far. Everyone I've met so far has been pretty cool. I don't even really think about them in relation to their Houses really!

Oh yeah? I guess that's a good thing though. I mean, it's better to be well mannered than not.

I've learned that you can't ever judge someone by appearances or where a person comes from.
