While I might seem like a hypocrite, I would like to request that the students back off from Snow. He believes himself to be in control of the school, and is potentially dangerous. Potentially. Nobody but he knows what he will and will not do, and I would like for you students to err on the side of caution.

Let your professors handle him. Please.

He's from the Ministry. Extremely powerful - he holds a lot of standing.

I'm not sure why, but he says he's here because Dumbledore is failing at his job.

This might just be me watching two many bad series, but odds are he's not here because he was sent here.
