While I might seem like a hypocrite, I would like to request that the students back off from Snow. He believes himself to be in control of the school, and is potentially dangerous. Potentially. Nobody but he knows what he will and will not do, and I would like for you students to err on the side of caution.

Let your professors handle him. Please.

[And the next bit is filtered to just the staff (with the exception of Snow, of course)]

Does anyone know about the citizenship process?

In most countries you may take a test to aquire it. Although I believe you may also marry into a family to attain it.

He's from the Ministry. Extremely powerful - he holds a lot of standing.

Far be it from me to question Ministry sanctioned decisions, but it strikes me that appointing a High Inquisitor at a secondary school seems to be more than a little excessive. [pause] Would you happen to know why the Ministry [pause] thinks otherwise, Professor Matteris?

It is excessive.

The Ministry has a nasty habit of denying the truth until it comes back and hurts them. They believe Dumblerdore is daft, and they want to control him and Hogwarts.

What if we just all rebel against him and throw him out ourselves? He doesn't stand a chance against the entire Hogwarts population.

There is no potentially dangerous for some of us. The danger to the weres and vamps here is real. We're technically not considered human citizens in a legal sense.
If he wanted to kick us out of Hogwarts (or worse) he can.

There is a worry we share.

But I know that I will not let Snow believe that he can bully us into submission. As long as the staff remains loyal to Hogwarts, the students will be safe.
