So, after reading through the journals network, I have reached one conclusion.

... I have no idea what's going on. I mean, I know what's happening now, but I'm missing so much context I may as well know nothing.

So, if anyone would be so kind as to give me some cliff notes, I'd really appreciate it.

How much have you managed to piece together yourself, so I'm not wasting my time explaining what you already know?

[He takes a moment to think before speaking.]

The Ministry's worried about Hogwarts. There was some incident at a camp that may or may not have involved Dark Magic, and apparently, people are doubting the competence of just about the entire staff. That's the gist of what I've found out.

There's only one person present who is truly doubting the competence of the staff, and that is the High Inquisitor. It's utterly unfounded and I don't know why he's really here yet but you can be damn sure I'm going to find out.

[He narrows his eyes and makes a soft 'tch' sound]

The incident at camp certainly did involve Dark Magic. They're trying to cover it up, and poorly, I might add.

Of the people present, yes, he may be the only one; but if he's here, he can't be the only one in the ministry. I am inclined to agree with you about the cover up, though. If there so many people with first hand experience with it right here, it's not exactly smart to deny it to their faces. Or at all, really.

Of course he's not - the Ministry has been trying to get this place shaped up or shut down for years. I think they're going after Dumbledore this time. They won't succeed.

[Arthur frowns]

I was there. I'm rather sure I wouldn't have begun firing jinxes at first years under my own volition. He's subduing us with vague threats and circular logic for now, but it won't last.

The question is how it won't last. The way I see it, this could either go with the threats no longer being vague and enforced, or he's somehow made to leave.

If he pushes too hard, I don't think he'll find that the staff will bend as easily as he hopes they will.

And if they push back too hard, they may find themselves being replaced. If someone with a direct link to the Ministry is here, it's because they're ready to act directly in the school.

I'm aware of that. The Ministry is underestimating Professor Dumbledore, and I don't think it's for the first time. I think there's more to this than we're being told, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that turned out to be true.

That they have someone here is a concern, but the fact that said person is so lying so sodding transparently to all of us when we know what happened is a gross error in judgement. I can give respect where it's due, and keep the hell out of his way, but there are people who haven't and they're already suffering the consequences for honest curiosity.

Of course, I can't say anything for people who have gone out of their way to be insulting. That's just bloody stupid.

If they're trying to keep it quiet, then I'm not surprised they don't want anyone asking questions. Denying that it happened to the people affected by it is still stupid, but I suppose they're trying to save face after a bunch of students were hit by some dark magic they missed.

It's a bit late for keeping it quiet, don't you think? They're not going to convince everyone who was there that some kind of dark magic wasn't involved.

[Arthur rubs the back of his neck, and glances around the greenhouse]

It's clumsy. That's what I don't understand. It's far too clumsy.

Something must have changed. If they feel like they have to do something so badly that they'd pull this, something must have come up.

They're saying it was the camp incident.. but I don't buy that. I think that was just the opportunity they needed to get someone in here.

Like I said. If they're suddenly caring about it, something must have happened.

Unless it's not sudden at all and they were just waiting for their chance. Dumbledore has a big pull in the Ministry after all.

[He huffs, and folds his arms]

Sooner he's gone, the better. I wonder if I could sic Marina on him. She'd scare anyone off.

[... Oh? Granted, his siter's name isn't that uncommon, but still. Worth poking further, maybe.]

I've managed to go four years without being punched by her. I like to think of that as an achievement.

It's probably better not to sic her on him. Trouble with the Ministry isn't good for anyone.

... You don't need to look so terrified. I know her name is enough to inspire fear in anyone but really, she's not that scary.

[Says Arthur. Who can actually hold a conversation with her. He may be a little biased]

I suppose you're right, though... Ah, but that would have been bloody brilliant to watch.

[Yes he does Arthur, you know nothing.]
