... I have no idea what's going on. I mean, I know what's happening now, but I'm missing so much context I may as well know nothing.

I'm going to assume you're referring to the current flood of outrage on the journals from both students and teachers alike?

Being raised in France does have that side effect when you return to the UK, yes.
