004 With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility

[Everyone, it is that time of night.]

Because I'm utter rubbish at actually following along with drama... So instead of doing.

Why do we wash towels when we dry off with them after getting clean?

..Seems a little redundant to me.

It is. It nearly matches our eyes too, which makes myself even more fond of it. 8ut as Professor Matteris uses it as well I'm surprised there's not more confusion at times.

Is it? I always thought I would seem... silly I guess, so I kept it to just a thing with Vriska, as she did it as well. I suppose it's only natural, with my names to have a fondness for spiders and spider related things.

[what a qt]

It does. I didn't know if it was weird that I had noticed that or not. But really, they're the most perfect shade of blue I have ever seen.

Maybe. But I like it. c::::

They do say names have a tendency to influence their bearer. I did also notice your name was

Well, I don't know if it's intentional, but it was used in Charlotte's Web.

[Wow now she's blushing. Good thing she's already tucked up in her bed, studying behind the curtains so no one can see.] I. Thank you Eriq. That's very sweet of you.

Perhaps I will indulge in it more then ::::)

Oh it is intentional. It 8ecomes even more notica8le if you look at my full name, Aranea Eleanor Joy. Eleanor standing in for Nellie, as Nellie is a diminutive of Eleanor of course.

My grandfather used to read it to my mother, and she is herself a Charlotte, and then she read it to me as a child, so we 8oth have a fondness for it. She thought it would 8e funny I suppose, that a Charlotte would have an Aranea for a daughter. I suppose it fits fine in the magical world, though I may have run into trou8le had I 8een a muggle.

Wow, that's

That's really something, actually. That books was kind of my introduction to spiders, actually. Well, aside from apparently trying to eat them as a toddler, I kind of had this habit of sticking anything that I could get my hands on into my mouth. Which I don't do anymore. But yeah. My mom read it to me as a kid all the time too. That, and Casper.

Oh, I know how the unusual name business goes. I'm Eriq with a Q. Do you have any idea how often teachers would ask me if I was sure I was spelling it correctly as a child? It didn't matter that I could read and write before school, it was always "Are you sure it's not with a C, sweety?"

Yes, I can spell my own name, thank you, go away.

It is, isn't it? Though it is a mouthful.

It's still one of my favourites I must confess, even if though my reading levels has 8een long a8ove it. 8ut it's always nice to curl up with for a lazy read.

An don't worry so much, toddlers are like that. I once ate my mother's entire stash of tea leaves if she's to 8e 8elieved.

[She's giggling a little at how annoyed he seems at this. Which she probably shouldn't but oh well]

For what it helps I think it's a very nice name.
