six ♓ text;

This October will be particularly interesting for all of my Astronomy students.

First off, before dawn on the morning of the 21st, I'll be giving students an opportunity for extra credit in my class. The Orionid meteor shower will be at its brightest, and any student who comes to observe it and then write me an essay on their findings will get extra credit towards their final grade.

There are actually two meteor showers this month, the Draconid shower being overnight from the 8th-9th. Should the weather be clear, I'll be offering the chance to go out and observe this one as well.

That said, there's another interesting astronomical sight this month, and that's the double star Albireo. It's said in some circles that some types of magic are stronger when cast under a double star, particularly hexes. I'd like between 30-50cm from each of you detailing the reasons why this might be advantageous when using a hex defensively. Alternately, you may write about why one shouldn't cast a hex when a double star is particularly bright.

I understand if you would rather not speak to me after what happened. But I feel I owe you an explanation and an apology.

I believe we need to talk, as painful and awkward as that may be.
