006 Those Things Send Us Down A Road

[Someone sure was missing from classes and didn't eat all day. His handwriting is different than usual, awkwardly paced, as if pausing when finishing some of the words trying to decide what to say.]

Can I get the homework and an idea of what we did in class today?

[Ink blots and a couple of smudges.]

It's odd how often humans consider themselves the superior species and assume all organisms below them are shallow and un-feeling.

There have been multiple examples - how animals can feel depression or even happiness just as us.

[Sure isn't as light-hearted as usual.]

[Tony closes his journal and wanders down to Peter's room and just walks in.]

[You are the biggest dork.]

[speterman]

[He rubs at his eyes and his face before glancing up at Tony.]

[He seems to curl into himself a bit more then he closes his journal.]

[Tony comes over and leans against Peter's bed post on one arm]

That's what I was wondering. Your journal was a little... We'll go with lackluster?

[Nope]

[speterman]

That's implying my journals typically have luster, you know?

[He scratches the back of his head before pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes.]

Well it wasn't it's normal strange exuberance.

[speterman]

[He looks back up at him with a miserable look.]

Bruce must be right about getting more sleep, or something.

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony starts t wander the dorm, looking at things Peter and his room mates have on display and lying about]

Sleep is only important when its needed. That much I can say for fact.

But then, if it was just about sleep. Why post that? You'd just sleep.

So really, I'm going to put my galleons on it being 'or something' over getting more sleep.

[speterman]

[Peter's gaze traverses the room with Tony.]

Maybe I'm just feeling ill?

[arrogantalloy]

[Tony looks over at him with a raised eyebrow]

It looks like something's wrong with you, but it's not being sick.

[speterman]

[He gives him an innocent look, big doe eyes ahead.]

Homesick?

[arrogantalloy]

[Just gives him a look]

I might not have much of a home to be sick for. But this isn't homesick.

[speterman]

[He sighs defeated.]

I miss my uncle. And I feel horrid that I'm the reason he's not here anymore.

He always said he thought I was going to be something special but all I seem to really be is a failure. I don't want him to have died in vain...

And I know that sounds stupid and petty and self centered. But everything just feels static and horrible. Really where have I come since first year? No where. I think the only thing I've managed is to get almost all the ravenclaw house to dislike me...

horrid, huh? Well yeah, losing someone important always makes people feel like that.

[Tony comes over and stops at the foot of his bed.]

How are you a failure? I mean, you're getting good grades. You always have.
Who would you be holding yourself up to standard wise?

[He then raises an eyebrow.]
