At this point it's really far easier for me not to have to see you while I'm explaining myself.

[There's a pause, and a couple of drops fall onto the page]

It was really strange. We were arguing, and then we ki weren't and I can't help but think that all of this has something to do with all the odd things that were happening last week. I know that under normal circumstances I would have just walked away... but I didn't.

The next thing I know he's asking me out and I said yes, because, I guess I do like him even though he's an utter arse.. He has been trying and I suppose he's won me over.

I know. I'm an idiot. We don't need to clarify that.

But now I'm not sure and that's why I've not been crowing about it like he has. I should have told you, and Victoria, and I don't know what stopped me.

[Welp. He stares at Arthur's reply before he facepalms on his side of the journal. How to even answer this is really quite beyond him at this point.

He sucks his cheeks in and lets out a heavy sigh, before he starts his response.]

Well that week was pretty strange, based on what I've been hearing. People dying, coming back to life, men changing into women and all that sort of stuff.

You said you liked him. I don't see why you're not sure then.

It's so bloody stupid. I'd love to be perfectly content about this, I really would, but then I think back on all the idiotic things he's done and I wonder if it's not too soon for this kind of thing.

Well how long has he been nice to you? Since the Olympics? Honestly I think you jumped from being his target to being his boyfriend in record time.

Well if you like him, and he likes you, then I don't see what's the problem. If he's "changed" and you think it's all sorted out between the two of you, then nothing's wrong.

Unless you think it was just the strange things happening in the castle that had you jump the gun with him.

Yes I'm quite sure the strange things happening had everything to do with why I jumped the gun, as you say.

But that isn't to say I didn't like it.

Look, if it was the castle, then my advice is to wait things out a little. It was a hasty decision, you admit it, and even if you liked it you still need to really think it through properly, whether you're still going to be this happy in a relationship with Alfred in the future, whether it can last.

[Right now, he's...not too sure. The anger he felt was still there, but it had cooled down and instead there's hesitation, doubt and awkwardness filling in the gaps.]

[He doesn't reply, but heads down to the Quidditch field, idly pacing back and forth and occasionally stopping to tap his foot against the ground. When Greg appears, he shoots him a somewhat sheepish smile]

[The look Greg shoots him back when he arrives isn't exactly hostile, but it's not very friendly either.]

[He shoves his hands into his pockets and frowns]

Well, look at it this way. If you're thinking that it might've been a mistake to just jump into the relationship, you're going to have to tell Alfred.

[Arthur gives a small shake of his head]

Just make sure Jones doesn't go around telling every single person in the castle about it next. Word travels fast in Hogwarts.
