Um. I don't know if I should say it over the journal. She's okay! Just- uh.

We're still at the lake. If you want to see her, that is.

[That's kind of weird. Nepeta doesn't really have many secrets she doesn't tell him. His usual chicken scratch might be a bit harder to read since he just started walking.]

[Oh, okay. Norman is still a bit hesitant but- well. He's her brother and it sounds like they're closer than he and HIS sister.]

She had a vision. And, it was a really bad one, too.

[Inkblot...now that was something Karkat didn't know about. But that didn't matter right now. He'd ask later.]

I think so. I think she's still really shaken up over it, but she isn't hurt or anything.

She's okay now. She just saw something. [That's all he's going to say on the journal. Hopefully he would get it.]

She really wants to see you.

[That's more than clear enough for him.]

I'M ON MY WAY. THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME.

[Sal is already booking it out of his office, through the hallways and out of the castle toward the lake.]

Okay, great.

[And that really was all that needed to be said. He hadn't left her side yet so he'd stay right where he was.]

[It takes Sal longer than he'd like to make to the lake. He's more out of shape than he'd like to think and by the time he gets there he's flushed and breathless with the vague possibility of being ill.]

[Nepeta is still there by the lake, sitting next to Norman with her knees tucked against her chest. When she hears Sal's footsteps she looks up at him and gives a wane smile. She looks a little bit pale, and still upset, but she has calmed down significantly. She stands up and goes over to him to hug him.]

Thanks for coming so quickly, dad. You didn't need to run.

[Oh, there he is. Norman gets up with her, but rather stays where he is while she goes to hug him. Maybe now was the time for him to leave. They probably had important things to talk about. He was still worried about Nepeta but there wasn't anything he could likely do to help her that her father couldn't do.]

[He can't answer her right away, he's still a little busy trying to catch his breath. But he does throw his arms around her and hug her as tightly as he can manage.]

Of course...of course I did, sweetheart. [He swallows hard, his breathing beginning to even out so he can at least talk with only a little gasping. He looks at Norman and smiles.] Thank you for staying with her.

[She internally frets a little for him until he seems to catch his breath. She looks back at Norman, and while she is certain the two probably already knows each other from class it's only polite to introduce them.]

Dad, this is my friend, Norman. Norman, this is my dad.

[Norman was kind of a wallflower, anyway. He didn't exactly raise his hand in class or anything like that and tended to keep interaction with anyone down to a minimum.]

[So Nepeta blatantly calling him a friend well. Surprised him, for sure. The sad thing is he really didn't think anyone's ever really done that before. So his cheeks turn a little red and he nods.]

She um. She's okay. She just needs to see Professor Vantas.
