It's been over a month and a half and I still don't know what to think about Hogwarts - it's nothing like how Dean described it at all. Does the house you get sorted into make that big of a difference?

It's a lot louder then I was expecting, more crowded. Not to mention I still don't have the stair schedules down, so I keep getting lost.

The dorms are alright, at least, even if they can be kind of cold. The library is the absolute best part, though. Does anybody have books they can recommend?

I wish home was more like this.

Big and castle don't really prepare you for everything Hogwarts can throw at you. Are you sure?

That's literally true, the Whomping Willow throws stuff. I don't see how it changes things. I'm in Slytherin and my sister is in Hufflepuff but that didn't change us.

I don't think I've seen the Whomping Willow yet. Oh. My brother is in Gryffindor and a lot of Gryffindors don't seem to like Slytherins. You don't think they can get him to stop liking me, do you?

As it happens, Winchester #2, the house you're sorted into does make quite a lot of difference. However, you were sorted into the best one, so don't have anything to worry about. Congratulations!

What kind of differences are there between Gryffindor and Slytherin?

Right. I probably should have known that.

There's a few differences, but I think the biggest one is that Slytherins tend to be practical and realistic where Gryffindors have absolutely nothing resembling a sense of self preservation.

Oh, I'm not the only one that has trouble with the stairs. They're really tricky, I always miss them.

I think a lot of people have problems with them. I just get on them too late and they start to move before I can get to where I want to go.

I have some pretty bad timing with the stairs, too, but it's mostly my own fault since I know the stair schedule by now.

Then again, I kind of jump the gaps if I can, instead of waiting on them to swing around. Most people don't recommend that.
