[And he will, because it really is, and while he doesn't care much, he doesn't want his friend to freeze his bum off, too. So when Tavros gets to the Astronomy Tower, he'll find a gloomy boy at the bottom, not even wearing his make-up today.]

-=he makes his way there as fast as he can, and gamzee can probably hear his braces long before tavros actually makes it there=-

Uh, hey. Gamzee.

[The taller boy is standing there with his shoulders hunched in, looking more than a little miserable, but he glances up for Tavros and tries to smile. It's a sad attempt, and it makes him look even more depressed, so thankfully it disappears pretty quickly.]

Hey, bro. [softly]

-=he remembers christmas and how gamzee seemed big on all the hugging and affection, but he might not at this particular moment. which is what made him hesitate at worst.

it's a noticeably awkward pause, but he finally steps forward to pulls his best friend into a hug=-

[The moment he does, Gamzee practically slumps into it, wrapping his arms around Tavros and burying his face in the smaller boy's neck and shoulder. Any worry about talking to Tavros about Shinra because of lingering crushes is forgotten, and in that moment, Gamzee is just intensely grateful for a friend.]

-=tavros clings to him, trying very hard to be the supportive one for once. he knows what it's like to be rejected and unwanted, but it has to be just as horrible to lose something you actually had, if not moreso=-

I'm sorry...

Ain't nothing you did. [Gamzee says in a very quiet voice, with a bit of roughness around the edges. He doesn't cry - hasn't since he was very little - but he feels all chokey and thick inside.] It's just- ... it was so fast. Couldn't even hardly say goodbye, and he said we might not even be able to owl, 'cause they might be hiding, he didn't know.

I am sorry that, you are very sad, and I don't know how to fix it.

-=his runs his hand soothingly up and down Gamzee's back and he chews hard on his lip=-

Maybe.. he'll owl himself. Letting you know he's okay?

[Gamzee sighs into Tavros's neck, moving his head back and forth as though he could just burrow in there and hide.] Maybe.

I guess there ain't no fixing it, it just ... is. People always leave, you know? It just happens, ain't nothing that can be done.

I'm not going to leave?

-=he just stands there and lets Gamzee hold on as long as he needs to. he means what he says, he cant imagine any reason that he'd leave the school or Gamzee=-

Maybe. [softly, because he thinks Tavros will, Tavros and Karkat and anyone else he likes, because they'll eventually figure out he's not worth much, especially when they get older, and they'll just ... drift]

Glad you're here now, though.

-=the maybe makes him frown. he knows gamzee is in pain but it still hurt to think that his best friend might not have that kind of faith in him. he doesn't say anything though, probably never will=-

Well, it's not your job, as the sad one to, uh... think of fun stuff. It is mine, as the friend, to take control of the situation, to help lessen the sad that you are feeling. And hopefully, insert some happiness to replace it, if at all possible.

Yeah, I guess that has got some sense all tangled up in it. 'Cause you're the hero and shit. [thoughtfully, relaxing a little against Tavros - he can trust his bro, he knows, and if anyone can cheer him up, it's the Hufflepuff]

I wish we could have movies. [Gamzee agrees moodily, but really, he needs the company more than the tv right now.] Books are cool, though. I ain't doing much reading, except for class. You could be reading me your fave, with the flying motherfuckers, yeah?

Yeah, I ain't got no books on those dudes, anyway. [going where he's tugged, still leaning on Tavros] I ain't really in the mood for them, anyway. I want to hear about your flying kids what wear the animal clothes and fight pirates and shit.

The real story, is a lot different than the Disney movie, that everyone knows. Most people, don't realize that. -=he tries to keep gamzee distracted even as they walked=- They don't actually, dress like animas... but they do kill pirates!

Like Professor Donoghue? 'Cause I wouldn't want to try to be killing him, he'd get all mad and shit. [sounds subdued, but at least a little more engaged in the conversation] He could probably kick everyone's arse.

I think trying to kill someone, would make anybody mad. -=he smiles up at him, leading him towards the hufflepuff common just so he can run in and get his bood=- It sounds upsetting.
