By no small measure of effort I seem to have been awarded the title of Slytherin Head of House. The timing is incredibly fitting, given that I'll have been teaching here for almost an entire year now. Who new that such honourable promotions would come so quickly, I had no idea I was considered a good fit for it.
[Which is to say he knew all along and he's been waiting for this to happen.]
As such, if any Slytherins are in need of advice or assistance, whether it be academic or not, are free to visit my office within reasonable hours. Any questions?

Ah. I suppose I should also give thanks to anyone who attended my birthday celebrations it february, I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Of course, that does not excuse anyone from their studies. Students of all classes should keep in mind that we will be focusing strictly on practicals this week. I would suggest you go over your previous months reading before attending or you may be surprised yourself upon entering the room, We will have an array of live subjects so I ask that you not only bring the necessary supplies but that you also bring your brains and make sure they're functioning for once in your lives. Mischief will not be tolerated when our classes are under the scrutiny of live magical creatures.

Absolutely. There are so many nuances and habits that nobody could possibly comprehend unless they were there themselves. I had no idea he was so terribly short, it almost makes me wonder if he was compensating for something.

I'm well aware, but it makes me wonder if he had words with the artists before having them paint him. He's taller in every picture I can recall.

Somewhat, I suppose. I can't imagine I'd like him as a person but I respect his ability to use influence as a weapon. He certainly kept the fear alive in all of his men.

Absolutely. It's interesting to compare and contrast the differences between how much one was capable of getting away with. Though it has been said to be his downfall, given that there were more than a few traitors in the castle. It would seem fear didn't cover all of his bases.
