By no small measure of effort I seem to have been awarded the title of Slytherin Head of House. The timing is incredibly fitting, given that I'll have been teaching here for almost an entire year now. Who new that such honourable promotions would come so quickly, I had no idea I was considered a good fit for it.
[Which is to say he knew all along and he's been waiting for this to happen.]
As such, if any Slytherins are in need of advice or assistance, whether it be academic or not, are free to visit my office within reasonable hours. Any questions?


Ah. I suppose I should also give thanks to anyone who attended my birthday celebrations it february, I was pleasantly surprised by it.

Of course, that does not excuse anyone from their studies. Students of all classes should keep in mind that we will be focusing strictly on practicals this week. I would suggest you go over your previous months reading before attending or you may be surprised yourself upon entering the room, We will have an array of live subjects so I ask that you not only bring the necessary supplies but that you also bring your brains and make sure they're functioning for once in your lives. Mischief will not be tolerated when our classes are under the scrutiny of live magical creatures.

I think all there really is to say on the matter is congratulations. I'm not even surprised, I can't think of anybody more deserving of this than you.

We've both come a long way, haven't we? From when we first started workin' here. It's kinda funny looking back on what the two of us used to be like. Look at us now, huh? Who'da thought we'd both be nearly running this joint? It's almost impossible to believe.

Before I punched you, I probably would've said something about you being a woman and how I don't hit 'em. Then I would've done it anyway. To be fair though? You totally deserved that punch. I stand by that even now.

Which is exactly why I mentioned that. I remember all too well. I'm glad to see I was wrong though, because I can definitely say now, a year later, that you're all man. Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking.

You know perfectly well what mischief means, Holmes. Curiousity might as well be likened to mischief in that they both lead to foolish behaviour. You will stick to the lesson plan and if you are unable to restrain your curiousity you're free to ask questions.
