☠ 007

So! Um.
Entertain a hypothetical situation with me here if you would chaps!
Say someone you knew and were friends with had been dancing around a topic for a good two months and some change due to a bit of a personal fear of how others might react to the knowledge.
Say erm... That this person was dancing around a topic that possibly had a bit to do with romance!
A lot to do with romance really. *tugs collar*
Lets just... hypothetically assume that perhaps this person is a bit afraid to... um. Tell folks...
About a romantic endeavor of theirs.
Because um.
Well you see...

Ah, yes. I feel like this would have happened so I will take it from here. Jake is pursuing a romantic relationship with I, Rose Lalonde. I worry that if I don't interject now, he may pass out and never get this done.
A good day to you too. ;)

Oh.
Right.
Well yes there you have it!!

[Dual-post! Replies will come from both Jake and Rose. It's about time they came out in the open with this, they've been dating since January 27th. Whoops.

That is true.
The nature of the competition really makes a difference.
But it really isn't out of your grasp. Perhaps all you are lacking is something that can be learned.
I believe that everyone can be competitive. It just depends on the person and the motivation.
stubbornskeptic: (Never mind...)

Given the difference in our ages, I would rather think it's a nature thing rather than a nurture thing.
Not that I'm that much older.
You know what I mean.
I just figure it's something that's beyond me!
I'll just get used to losing!

It's a mix of both. But if it makes you feel better, I had a reason growing up to work hard. There was something my younger self badly wanted and thought the way to achieve it was to go into my schooling seriously.
It is possible to grow competitive. You just need something that you want enough to be so.
I have never considered you a loser or one that would lose constantly.
stubbornskeptic: (Oh I don't know...)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-04-20 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I suppose I'm just having a hard time lately, hence the pessimism!
But if I may...what was it you wanted so badly?

Pessimism is such a dastardly foe! But if you grow from it, then perhaps a hard time is not necessarily bad.

A father.
stubbornskeptic: (This disguise has failed me.)

I will try and think of it that way.

Oh...oh dear.
I'm not certain how schoolwork was ever going to solve that, I'm afraid.

There is always a light at the end.

I thought that if I became the most brilliant child ever; he would come home. That was what I thought growing up. It was why I took as many extracurricular activities as I could. To somehow impress someone that wasn't in my life. He'd somehow hear my feats and accomplishments and realize that he should be home to cherish them.

this was ages mind you. I was a naive child.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out how you imagined.
It would have been just like a movie if it had.

In any case, it seems like you've come out of it for the better.
You're a very smart, nice person.

[Even if that's a little frustrating for Jane since it'd be MUCH EASIER to just...kinda hate her a little.]

Things worked out in the end. Just not how I thought it would. It also took a little while longer, but I think I got my happy ending in those regards.

Oh no! I have tricked you. I mean, I will graciously take the smart comment as I am an egomaniac. Nothing like nice comments to go to my head! But I must have done a trick to convince you that I am nice. I'm a terrible person! Don't let the veil obscure your vision and see the truth.

I think Jake is incapable of liking mean people. :B

Do you think so?

Oh dear me! I really have tricked you both.
stubbornskeptic: (Right back atcha!)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-05-12 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
As long as you're both happy, I think a little trickery is alright!

I will trick everyone one person at a time. Everyone will fall for my charm and then I will finally seek my rightful place as ruler of the wizarding and muggle world.

I plan to use cats as they seem to be the less likely weapon to screw this all up.
Anyone who doesn't like cats are to be rightfully executed for a heinous crime such as disliking cats.
stubbornskeptic: (You serious?)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-06-05 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case I vow to never dislike a single cat. :B

You should meet Mutie. You would never hate a cat as soon as you've seen my darling kitten.
stubbornskeptic: (I dunno...)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-06-07 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to introduce me, then!
It'll take a bit of doing to undo my distaste for the alley cat near my house, though.
He's a right pain!

[personal profile] seeringlight 2013-06-10 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
I assure you my cat is nothing but the most precious little fiend. You think you will rightfully finish your work and four hours later all you have done is given your little darling furball all of your attention and affection.
He's really quite the mastermind.
stubbornskeptic: (D'aww!)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-06-10 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I think perhaps you had better allot him some affection periods if it is really that much of a problem!
seeringlight: Credit to <user name="pixelatedstardust"> (What a cutie.)

[personal profile] seeringlight 2013-07-16 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
You would think that would be suitable but you find yourself at his mercy even after the allotted time has ended. He really knows how to get what he wants.
stubbornskeptic: (Is that right?)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-07-16 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Then maybe he needs a kitty friend, hoo hoo.

Hardly. If we brought another feline into the home, we'd never get work done!
stubbornskeptic: (Two beaters and a wink!)

[personal profile] stubbornskeptic 2013-07-16 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hoo hoo, then you'll just have to get to scratching behind those ears, I suppose!

Ah, but I can't hate them even so. Cats and their charms!
