So, I took a bit of a break from studying today and I have a treat for everyone (professors included!)
I've got about ten dozen cookies of varying flavors on trays in the Great Hall.
Feel free to come and take a few whenever you like!
I'll be in there catching up on that lost (but not wasted!) time if you want to chat.

ive yet to fail a defense against the dark arts or magical languages exam so im not sweatin it
with your help in potions i think im as good as im gonna get
with everything else im making sure i look over my notes before the exam starts to make sure i got it all
definitely making sure ive got transfiguration down
our unit on turning hedgehogs into pincushions was harder than expected so ive been concentrating on things similar to that
otherwise im not too worried

[And in a few minutes, Dave is casually entering the Great Hall, glancing around to find Jane. He spots her and makes a beeline to her.]

Yo, teach.

[Jane glances up from her book and smirks at Dave as he approaches.]

I don't know if that's an appropriate nickname just yet. I think I have to successfully get you to pass your exam to earn that title, don't you think?

Nah, you're a good teacher. If I fail the exam, then it's my fault for sucking so hardcore at the subject. As long as the dungeons don't blow up, I think I'll pass. Got milk to go with those cookies?

[Perhaps the house elves are listening, because a pitcher and a few glasses appear just as Dave asks this.]

...Apparently so!

[Jane closes her book and sets it aside, smiling up at Dave and gesturing for him to sit.] I'm sure you'll do excellently on your exam. And I'll only have helped pave the way to your greatness, nothing more.

I love house elves.

[He pours himself and Jane generous amounts of milk. Dave then snatches one of the cookies Jane's holding for him and immediately dunks about half of it into the milk.]

When I find out, you'll be one of the first to know.

[Dave takes a bite of his cookie before continuing.]

So, what're the Crockberts up to this summer?

Not much, as far as I know. I'm sure John will invite you over at some point, so we'll have to hang out a little then. Other than that, well. Perhaps I'll invite Meulin or Art over at some point as well.

[Nobody's invited her anywhere, yet. Not that she's worried she's done something to offend everyone or something! Nope! Not even crossing her mind!]

I would've popped down for a visit anyway, or Dirk and I would've dragged the both of you to our place. Though, I guess it depends on whether or not Bro wants to take us to Greece for the holidays instead.

[Dave shrugs.]

[Jane smiles, pleased to hear that at least Dave still wants her around. Despite reassurances from Dirk, she's still skeptical that he's just been...okay with everything that happened between them.]

Greece must be gorgeous in the summer. Have you spent any summertime there, yet? [She's not certain how long the professors have been dating.]

Nope, I mean, we went during the Easter holidays, but not summer. They only got together this year.

[Dave starts working on his sugar cookie, savoring every bite. Sugar cookies are his crack when they're made right, and since Jane always makes them right....]

I'll get you a souvenir if we go there. And I'm making sure to bring my camera. Figure I might as well practice with people shots.

Oh, Dave, you don't have to go and do that. I'd love to see the pictures, though.

[Jane takes a peanut butter cookie for herself.]

Will they be muggle pictures or wizard ones?

Too late, my mind's been made up.

Muggle. Wizard ones are cool and all, but it's more impressive when it's a muggle picture.

Really? I think muggles would beg to differ. Pictures that move on a page? I doubt technology will ever get to that point. Are you already bored by magic?

Nah. It's not that the picture can move that should be impressive, it should be the shot itself. I happen to think that the movement gets in the way of that one moment you're trying to capture. It seems more real when it's still, at least in my opinion.

[Whoops, his photography passion is showing.]

[Jane smirks, thinking that perhaps something related to photography would be a better thank you gift than a dress. Or maybe she could combine the two somehow? Hmm.]

Well, I'll be especially excited to see what you capture this summer, then, Greece or not.
