Day 3
It seems like lately I've been needing to explain some of the things where I'm from more and more. So I decided I should explain three of the most prominent things in Shetland's Wizarding community.
But I think I should say first that its community isn't actually that big...not a lot of wizards live in Shetland, so a lot of their marketing has crossed over with that of Muggles.
Okay, first! Most important! Sea-salt ice cream!

This is actually imported from a bigger Wizarding community in Scotland, though I've never been there before...it's called Twilight Town. And it's the best ice cream ever! It's salty but sweet and since it's made by wizards it never melts! But the Muggles never really notice that part, so we can all eat it together with no worries.
Supposedly if you find an ice cream stick that says "winner" you'll get one wish and have it come true. We just tell the Muggles you get more sea-salt ice cream.
Second! Paopu fruits!

I don't know the story behind where paopu fruits came from, but supposedly if you eat one with someone special to you you'll be with them forever.
I think it's rubbish, really, and just something they tell kids so they'll buy paopu fruit charms and all. The trees are shaped weird and sometimes wiggly and paopu fruits kind of glow a little when it gets dark.
And finally, this is actually something the Wizards and Muggles shared with each other right from the start--

Thalassa shells. You don't find thalassa shells very often anymore since people usually pick them up pretty quickly to make charms out of them or other things and sell them. They're good luck charms for safe journeys, so it means a lot to us here since we have to do a lot of travelling.
Ummm...that's all I have to say.

Which is pretty much everywhere.
So this is really great!
Sea salt ice cream sounds delicious, and I think the Paopu fruit story is cute, even if it's rubbish. Thalassa shells sound really lovely, too -- Are they always the purpley-pink color?
Mostly, though, I think it's great that where you're from, there are things that wizards and muggles share.

It's okay, Rapunzel, I haven't been to a lot of places either. I guess it doesn't really occur to me that things that are normal to me don't exist in other places.

But it's great that you share them! And maybe someday we can go on a trip together. We'll see a lot of places.

It's interesting that marketing from there has crossed with Muggles. I'm sure really curious about other things that are done by wizards that Muggles don't even realize...

Oh, I'm bringing some Muggle snacks to the study hall snack session you and Apple Jack set up. You're more than welcome to help yourself to them.

I collect them, even if it is to use them for crafts most of the time...next time there's a holiday I could try to bring some back for you.

That would be much appreciated. I would be interested in seeing your crafts as well, if you wouldn't mind.
