I'll be going home early for the holiday. I have some business I need to attend to back at home.

I won't be able to receive any owls or regular post either, so don't please don't worry.

I- what?! Xion, are you certain this actually happened? [He pauses for a few seconds.] I... don't know what to say... I am very, very sorry...

The police want me to identify their bodies. I...received a letter about it from a friend back home today.

I'll be okay. Please don't worry.

...You always say that as if I can stop worrying. It's impossible, I care too much. I... should I come with you, Xion?

[He wanted to, but he also didn't want to force his presence if Xion wanted to be alone, so he would leave it up to her.]

I don't have any other family...I would appreciate the company

[This catches him off guard, and he's quiet for several moments. He hadn't expected her to have... no one. He had assumed she would have grandparents, or an aunt and uncle... someone. Not no one.]

O-Of course, Xion... I'll do whatever you need me to, when do you want to leave?

[He doesn't know what to say. He has a few questions, and yet he doesn't want to overload her, so he'll just go along with things for now.]

[If she does, she's never met them. Like everything else, her parents even kept her isolated from any extended family. She is completely alone and lost without the guardianship of her parents, a lesson that they (whether intentionally or not) tempered into her for a long, long time.]

They wanted me to come back as soon as possible...whenever you're able to is fine, Professor.

Of course, I'll pack my things and be ready to leave within the hour. Do you have transportation set up, or would you like to go by apparition?

[A part of him feels guilty for asking so many questions, leaving so much up to her when she's probably hurting. But he doesn't want to assume control completely and overwhelm her, either. This was all so sudden that a part of him is lost, himself.]

Professor Dumbledore said I could go back through the fireplace. But I suppose that apparition would be more precise.

[Being left with the thoughts of what she has to look forward to when she gets home is triggering a reaction to withdraw and become clipped with her words.]

...I don't want to keep you for long, Professor, so don't feel like you have to.

Xion, don't think for one second I feel like I have to do anything. I am going with you because I care and want to help you through this, not because of any kind of obligation. I will stay with you for as long as you need me, so think nothing of it. You worry about yourself right now.

[A small pause.]

I will meet you in an hour at the front doors, if you need any help at all before then, don't hesitate to use the mirror.
