A belated and rather exasperated thank you to anyone who passed on...birthday wishes to me, for starters.
Secondly, I'd like to announce, rather late, I might add, a study abroad opportunity for students for the summer.
It's three weeks, one week in Norway, one in Sweden and one in Finland. Primary seats are being given to students who plan on taking their studies of runes, ancient magic, or astronomy further.
We'll be staying with a number of elites in the field.
It might sound expensive, but do not worry about the cost.
If any students third years and up are interested in the program please let me know.

I've been corresponding with some of my former teachers up north about the idea of bringing students up over the summer for a few weeks, and they're all on board.
I'm actually considering that next year I may take a week during the middle of the year to bring students to at least Norway.
Permission slips would be sent home, naturally.

The trip sounds...like fun. I've never been to those places before.
[...Never mind that she hasn't really ever been ANYWHERE outside of Scotland.]
I'll have to see if it's all right with my p---

no I'm sorry!!
I meant my uncl--um--Professor Iroh. B...but I'm sure he'd be fine with it

I'm sure I could pre-emptively reserve you a seat. I'm only taking a handful of students, and I don't expect many parents will be willing to allow their kids to go out of the country with their professor for an extended period, and have little to nothing to pay out of pocket.
But you are more than welcome to join us.
Also, if you ever need someone to talk to, I know you're currently in Professor Iroh's care, but if you needed to talk to anyone else, ever, you can always talk to me.

[After all, there is the professors being better parents than the actual parents syndrome.]
I don't want to trouble you with anything, sir. I'm fine, it's just [some ink drops] hard to adjust. To them being gone, I mean.

THAT'S LIKE FUCKING SUNDAY SCHOOL OR SOMETHING.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BY THE WAY.

I understand how you must feel. I lost my father when I was younger, so I do sympathize.

Two of the three people we'd be staying with actually have television.
So if that was a concern of yours, don't worry. You would be able to watch all the movies you wanted.
Most of the accommodations have to be paid through muggle currency, hence why I do not might footing most of the bill.
And thank you very much, although the added year isn't really the gift I was hoping for.

I ACTUALLY HAVE SOME PLANS FOR SUMMER SO I'M AFRAID I'M GONNA HAVE TO SKIP THIS FIELD TRIP.
JOHN'S COMING OVER FOR A WILL SMITH MARATHON AND MY BIRTHDAY'S IN THE SECOND WEEK.
MIGHT BE SEEING MEN IN BLACK III TOO.
I THINK I'D PREFER STAYING AT HOME ANYWAY.

I mean...why would they get uneasy about it?
[Someone is a wee bit oblivious to the world around her.]

But since we'd be going during the summer, it wouldn't be as cold. I've been there year round before, and summer is usually quite nice.

I don't have high hopes for it, honestly.
But I digress.
If you know of anyone who is interested in attending, could you pass the word on for me?
I know some students don't bother checking for updates.
Private
Well...that's not very nice. They should have more faith in teachers!
Private
Most muggle parents are used to being about to open a phone book, look up a name and find their students teacher and visit them the next day.
But when sending their children here, they seldom get the opportunity to meet teachers.
So I understand where the mistrust comes from. Although the forms I have written up do explicitly state that for parents who wish to meet me before the trip, I'm available to visit just about anyone.
Private
But I think Uncle already knows you, so you don't need to meet him.
Re: Private
He was a muggle, so he was very adamant about making sure that I wasn't getting into something nasty here.

And Happy Birthday.

They told everyone that I was going to a private all-girls academy and...I think that's exactly what they wanted to believe.

I'm very sorry to hear that...

Professor! I don't want you to be sad, it's not worth it!
no subject
I just, I suppose I sort of can empathize?
So, it's not that I'm sad, it's that I understand how that must feel.
