I suppose introductions are in order. I am Loki, brother of Thor. I will begin attending Hogwarts with you all in September.

He did indeed, and he does seem rather awesome, though my limited contact with him.
I find what the actual relations are, or even if they are there matters little. If you count him as your brother, he is your brother. I am adopted, but Thor is still my brother.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales. It's on the far west of Wales, so not terribly close to London, but my house is connected to the floo network, so distance matters little.

Yeah, LLsfjkhasdasjhsfkjhadkjfhasjftuiujgogh isn't particularly close. It'd probably take forever by coach.
What's the floo network?

Most shorten it to Llanfair PG.

The Floo network is a mode of transportation involving Floo powder and a fire place. You have to officially connect your house to the network, then all you have to do is step in the fireplace, call then name of where you want to go, and throw some powder down and you are transported there.

I take it your house is not connected?

If we have it, no one's told me.
It's been up to me to learn a lot of things, really, and I still don't know much of anything about this stuff.
That sounds awesome, though.
Does it work anywhere in the world?
That'd be a convenient way to avoid flying.

It is never to late to learn these things. Some in our class will be learning of our world for the first time this summer. It is all the more reason for us to meet.

I believe it is not reliable for very long distances, such as across the Channel, but then I have only used it within Great Britain so far.

I didn't know about any of this until my birthday, so there's still a lot I need to learn.
That's disappointing.
That still leaves travelling by auto at least.

Wizards are like muggles in the regard that we see a need and we strive to fulfill that need.

It would be horrible if the means of transportation were anachronistic, like it is with the whole no electricity thing.

I think that wizards disregarding electricity is rather silly. Wizards are missing out on a great deal of opportunities.
