I hope you students have not yet managed to fatally wound yourselves. We've only been out of school for a week, and I'd hope you lot could survive for a few months without close supervision.

I will not be assigning any summer work, but I do expect for you all to come to school with the proper books and with memories of what you learned the year prior. I'd rather not have to reteach you the basics again.

Unfortunately I will be going on this "retreat" as Dumbledore calls it, and I will be gone for quite a few days. Please refrain from getting into trouble or harm.

There are plenty of non-magical ways for a student to hurt themselves. I wouldn't trust most of these students to not cut themselves on blunt objects.

Life would be simpler that way. Perhaps not as entertaining, though.

Most people don't notice their oddities. They might not be odd to themselves or their families, but they can be bizarre when compared to the rest of socieity. Not to say being odd is a bad thing. I, personally, prefer the company of the strange.
