So, I guess I'm your captain this year. I say it's high time Hufflepuff got a bit of gold and glory for Quidditch. I know that some of you are thinking of trying out for the team; if you'd like, I could take a look at what you've got on Sunday, just to let you know what you can work on before the actual tryouts itself. They'll be on the 15th and 16th, so you've got time to work on your game. Any other questions, pass them to me and I'll do my best to answer.

Let's try to make this the year Hufflepuff holds up the Quidditch Cup, yeah?

Well, you got in between her and the guy she's into. Even if it is Maxim, she is going to be cross with you about it.

I'm sure she'll realise that you were doing this for her in the long run though.

Although. How did you manage to be a prick about it?

They were snogging and I yelled at them. I could've been a bit more sensitive about it instead of raising my voice and attracting all that attention, considering Van and Maxim made a public announcement about their relationship.

Well, really. If they made their relationship public. One would think Maxim would be smart enough to keep his lips to himself.

You know how he's like. He's got no concept of personal space.

I would be lying if I said I was completely in the right in this too. I...I don't know how I feel about this girl. When I'm around her I just...I like her so much and I just want her to be happy and I want her to like me too. But when we're not around, I don't really feel anything.

So yeah, I was a jealous idiot who got mad that the girl I fancied was kissing my friend's boyfriend.

You like a girl? So who is she?

It could just be that you're a boy who's only just started noticing girls?

Look, it doesn't matter who she is. And it's not like I haven't been noticing girls! It's just confusing, that's what it is! Sometimes I'd do anything for her, and sometimes she's just that girl who shares the classes I'm in.

Well it sort of does. I mean there is the chance that you just feel like because she's just really pretty? Or has some other feature which catches your attention.

You could just be a magpie, and she's a shiny something you want?

Well she is pretty, but that's not it! I just, I feel strongly for her only when I'm near her. At other times I don't even care. I mean, I don't really talk to her either.

It's like my emotions are a yo-yo and I can't control them. I've thought about it long and hard and I know I don't like her in that sense, but I drop everything every time she steps into the bloody room.

Maybe it's something she's wearing? Like a perfume? I mean, some potions can change their smell depending on the nose that's breathing in?

Or, you're just incapable of say no to a pretty face?

She's not that type of person Victoria. It's not like she's sniffing for boys or anything.

And it's not because of that either. I'm not that shallow.

[Is he? He's starting to get worried now...]

Well, I don't even know who she is. So I have to make assumptions, don't I?

Don't worry, you're not shallow. But that doesn't mean you can't find it hard to say no to a pretty face. You might just have a thing for girls who look thrilled when you do something for them?

Well, she's a good person normally, alright? Like, she was really sorry about kissing Maxim. And she's usually really helpful and nice to everyone.

I, I don't think so. I don't know...and now I've gone and upset everyone, and I don't know how to make it up to her. I don't even know how I feel at this moment.

You haven't gone and upset everyone. If you ask me, she just needs some time. Normally kissing someone is a really emotional moment. I think if she feels bad for what she did she'll soon realise that what you did was to help her.

Give it a week? Not only that but with the school being all out of sorts and everyone's having to invade everyone else's space, it's going to be even worse.

It's not only that. I mean, she doesn't even realise that kissing him was a bad idea.

And Maxim punched me.

I messed up good and proper Victoria.

...Wait, she didn't?

Oh, Greg, really. You aren't the one messing up here. I'm half tempted to give that Maxim a good piece of my mind. What was he thinking hitting you? This is just ridiculous!

I don't think she did. She kept saying that it was her fault, that I should be yelling at her, but she thought I should be yelling at her for Van's sake. I was just trying to look out for her.

I nearly hit him back. I was just so angry. I don't reckon I've been that livid in awhile. I'm not proud of myself.

This really is quite a situation, Greg.

I really believe you should stay away from both of them for the time being. In case something else ends up happening. Because if you get any more hurt, Arthur might end up getting involved because he's fond of you.

I know you want what's best for both of them but, keeping your nose out for the moment is the only way to keep your nose from possibly bleeding more.

Yeah, that's another thing. I don't want Arthur finding out about this. I dunno about Maxim, but I'm not breathing a word to him. He doesn't need the extra stress.

I'll do that. He nearly knocked out one of my teeth already; I had to go see the Healer in the morning to get that corrected.

Well he's certainly not going to hear about it from me. That is for sure.

Oh Greg, you need to be more careful in future.

Thanks Victoria. For that, and for your advice. I know I have a bit of a temper and a mouth. I don't mean it, but I just end up shooting myself in the foot too often. I'll definitely work on it but thanks for listening.

Keep shooting yourself in those feet, you'll have none left to shoot.

And it's not a problem, I don't know how much help I was. However, you're Arthur's friend and I'm far better to talk to about things like this than he is. Because he can be impossibly thick at times.

I think I'm on my last legs in my relationship with Maxim, Van and the girl, so to speak.

You're a great help, and I do mean it. S'nice to know I can trust someone to think things through instead of just jumping into things, which is what I do. Not all the time, but. Well, you've seen how bad it can get.

I'm sure everything will work out, a little optimism never hurt anyone.

Well unfortunately I haven't managed to arrange something better to do this Saturday. So I guess I don't really have a choice to be anything other than 'up for it'.
