[Karkat's trying to make his voice as loud as he can without giving his position away. Of course, he's not exactly sneaky and before long he trips over a chair while he was too busy making sure Equius didn't notice him sneaking up the other side of the bookshelves, tumbling over the chair headfirst and falling into a heap with a loud 'FUCK'.]

[ Equius groans in exasperation. Seriously, Karkat? At least now he's not just talking at the journal anymore. ]

[ And by a moment, he means like three seconds. Because it's not really all that hard to follow the noises that Karkat made. ]

[ Equius sneers at the boy before taking a step back. ]

[Karkat didn't have the chance to pick himself up in time to abscond, so he just dusts himself off the best he could. Better face the music. With a small sigh, he rubbed his temples before pinching the bridge of his nose, crossing an arm over his chest and resting his elbow in his other hand before he glares.]

Do you really think I'm stupid enough to give you my wand, Zahhak?

[ He rolls his eyes as his posture loosens just a bit, the exasperation quite apparent in his voice. ]

But do you think I am stupid enough to let you keep your wand? A cornered animal can be desperate, after all.

[ But he sighs, expecting this to potentially turn into an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. ]

If you give me your wand, I promise to return it to you when our little discussion is over and to not take advantage of your inability to defend yourself from magic. Satisfied?

[ He gestures towards the door with a smile and takes a step to the side so Karkat can take the lead. He's being courteous, Vantas, you had better acknowledge it. ]

[Karkat keeps a hand on his bookbag before shoving the other into the pocker of the hoodie he's wearing. Not because that's where he keeps his wand but because he doesn't know what else to do with it. With a grim look on his face, he reluctantly steps out in front of Equius, hunching his shoulders as he starts leading the way towards the door.]

Funny, because I think I hear the debate group down wind. [After a moment he gives a small sigh, straightening his shoulders.] Before you beat the shit out of me, I'm sorry.

Yes, but we are not going to be debating anything, Vantas. [ He sighs a few moments after Karkat's apology. Equius is just kind of pitying the guy right now. ]

I do not see why you felt the need to lie to me.

[ And then he cracks his knuckles. ]

[He's just now realizing how fucking petty that sounds and he rubs his head. The crack made him tense up a little, grumbling.]
