1st experiment

I am Lyrl Dox, a 5th year. Though, if we're to be accurate, this is my first year here.

So this is what a proper school is like? I have to admit, the number of enchantments is impressive. Is there any purpose to the rotating staircases aside from trying to kill the students? Not that I don't enjoy the sense of murderous whimsy.

There are also quite a few more people here than I expected. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by the crowds, but there are herds of them. And they're all so absurdly loud and oblivious.

Is there some sort of spell for volume control?

I am keeping myself busy with my schoolwork, but I am wondering what else goes on at the school. If I were to do nothing but work, I could stick with my tutors.

There are many clubs to join. You will also find the journals to be an endless source of entertainment. Some very interesting people attend this school, perhaps you could befriend them.

The journals are interesting, I suppose, in a voyeuristic way. And I do intend to join some clubs if I can find some that interest me. I have been spending too much time simply reading as of late--as enjoyable as that is.

Perhaps there is a club for reading! If you joined, you could get points for doing what you always do.

Is that so? Though the points don't interest me. I suppose some of my housemates would be thankful for it.

They may not interest you now, but as you grow closer to your housemates and more into the swing of things you may find yourself excited by the tally!

I suppose it's possible, I haven't had much chance to be in a competition before. and Gryffindor can't be the only house that cares or there would be no point to the game.

The eagerness is infectious.

Of course not! Though we tend to be the loudest about it, as you have observed.
