four ♓ voice;

Now that I've had a chance to go over your summer assignments, I must say, there are some...creative interpretations here. Creative meaning 'I don't know how you came to this conclusion'. I'm also shocked at how many of you charted the wrong constellations.

That's why I'm giving an additional assignment, on top of what I've said in classes.

The Western Zodiac has traditionally been broken up into twelve signs, each associated with a particular constellation. I expect an essay from each of you on the very basics about each constellation, as it applies to magic. The types it's associated with, the elements, all of it.

Also, I'm making this clear right now: I am no longer tolerating any disrespect from any student. All future detentions from me will be served on the days of Quidditch matches and on Hogsmeade weekends, whenever possible.

Have things gotten really out of hand, Professor? I've definitely noticed a few more problems than usual...

I'm sorry to hear that. I'll do my best to help, as a prefect.

Oh, gosh, thank you, Professor. That's very kind.
hairflyingheartpounding: (What are you doing?)

You know, Professor, I really enjoy charting stars and learning the magical properties of astronomy. I didn't have the time to take your class, but if it's not too much trouble, maybe you could teach me some things sometime?
hairflyingheartpounding: (Clapclapclap!)

[personal profile] hairflyingheartpounding 2012-09-12 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much, Professor! Perhaps I could stop by during lunch later this week?

Oh, well... I'm glad!
luxextenebris: (huh?)

I guess that's the last time I let Hayner try to help me with my summer homework. I knew I should've gone back and changed some of the answers.

I actually really like astronomy and your classes, Professor Peixes, and I apologize if I've been disrespectful in the past.

Oh yeah. Don't let a guy who doesn't know jack about astronomy help you chart stars. I should've asked Olette instead.

Well, maybe some of them don't realize what they're doing? I mean, we are teenagers and I think a lot of the time we don't remember that our teachers have feelings too.

Has it really come to this point where privileges are to be threatened?

I would also like to volunteer. I'm not a Prefect given my year, but I intend to be. This will merely be practice for when that time comes. Honestly, as much as one may dislike their teacher, you should always respect those who are willing to teach. We would get nowhere without teachers.

I assume reporting any grievances to available staff would be the fastest route to get things done?

I'm sorry to hear that. I'll be sure to make sure my peers are on their best behavior.

Thank you, professor. I appreciate it.
status_is_not_quo: (oh great)

I admit that I can be rather isolated from my fellow students for the fair majority of the summer, and freely acknowledge that I may have a more difficult time than some in garnering the respect of my peers, but as a prefect I too will be more than willing to help with the growing discipline problem in any way that I can.

I'm also worried, Professor Peixes, was my charting off? I thought it was accurate as well as precise, but one miscalculation can throw the whole thing off, I guess. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would like to fix any mistakes in my previous assignment as well as do the newly-assigned essay. It's important to learn from my mistakes, after all. Is there a length requirement? Would ten centimeters per sign be too much?
status_is_not_quo: (just as planned)

Thank you, Professor, that's very generous of you.

Oh, good. Then I'll start on the new assignment right away. When is the zodiac assignment due?

I'm being made to try out for Quidditch this weekend. Does that mean if I fuck shit up, I can get out of that?

Thank you Professor. Would it be possible to sit in on some of the upper level's stargazing?
