[At first it looks like someones just gotten into both Aranea's journal and her stash of ink, blue scribbles appearing on the page. Slowly they take shape, in childish depictions of flowers, moving onto spiders and then onto all other animals. Then it becomes more noticeable that there's two people drawing, pictures taking place at the same time, in different spots. And then the scribbles turn into words, the words messy, like any 5-7 year old would write]

I drew the speider up there [An arrow points up to a particular spider] by Vriska !!! !

[Then a long rectangle appears next to the spider, inkblots appearing above him to symbolise rain and then Aranea feels the need to chip in her own words]

The ittsy bittsy spider climbed up the water spoooooooout. DOWN came the rain and WASHED the spider OUT. OUT came the sun and drieeeeeeeed up all the raiiiiiiiin, so the ittsy bittsy spider climbed UP the spout again!!!!!!!!

I'm not cursed! I... I'm not a frog and I don't have ruby slippers or any of the other things people get when they're cursed! [Huffy sighs] I've never been older then I am right now Mr. You sound like Mr Nope.

...Whose Miss Maryam? Her name is pretty.

Mr. Nope? Hold on ... oh, you mean Eriq. Yes, he's my best friend. He's quite brilliant, really, so there are worse things to sound like!

Miss Maryam is one of the school nurses. I have been told she's very nice, but I couldn't speak to that. However, she seems quite good at her job. I could come help you find her, if you like. Where are you?

Is that his name? He just shouted NOPE! a lot so I couldn't ask him. Is he really smart then? 'cause he was saying some weird things. Like I wasn't old anymore, but I've never been any older and that he was my boyfriend which is funny. I don't have a boyfriend! Boys are silly.

Do you really really think I should see her? [pause. Because it's really hard to recognise things when you're in an unfamiliar place] Uh... There's lots of books... Is there a library here? Can I borrow some of the books?

And there is a library, yes. You can borrow the books later, I'm going to come fetch you.

But I don't want to kiss boys. That's a grown up thing.

Okayyyyyyyy. [And when he does come and find her she's sitting alone, sounding out words softly as she tries to make sense of her 5th year textbook]

[Herbert's not particularly good with small children - he tends to treat them like small adults, or at least people his own age. But he's trying, at least, so when he sees the little redhead girl, he glances around, pursing his lips.]

Where's the other one? Your ... ah, sister?

[It's probably a good thing that Aranea was a fairly well behaved child, if a bit excitable at times. When Herbert shows up she looks up from the page, smiling shyly, carefully marking her page in the book]

Vriska went with Aunt Sybille. I wanted to stay and read so Aunt Sybille told the woman at the desk I was here and I'm supposed to tell her if I'm leaving. We should go find her.

The librarian? Oh, yes, I guess so. [wrinkles his nose briefly] Come on, then, we'll find her and I'll take you to Miss Maryam. ... you don't remember anything about how you got here?

Okay. [She'll just tuck the book into her bag, making a valiant effort to carry it. It has her name on it so it must be hers. It... would just be a lot easier for a 15 year old to carry it over a 7 year old. Oh well.] No... not really. Me and... Vriska and I woke up here and we weren't sure why we were here, but if we're here there must be a reason, yes?

Are you allowed to take that? Here, give me your bag. [holding out his hand] What do you last remember before that?

It has my name on it, so it must be mine, right? [Teeny frown but she does hold it up slowly] Nothing. Is there something I should be remembering?

[He slings it over his shoulder and starts leading her back up to the front, presumably where the librarian will be.] Well, your life. I mean, you don't seem to have amnesia, you remember who certain people are, so I thought maybe if you remembered what you'd been doing before ... this. How old are you, five? Six? Since you don't remember being older.

[She follows, speeding her steps up to keep pace with his longer ones, getting into a slight skip in the process] I do remember my life. Except for the parts where I was a baby, but no one remembers that. I live with my mummy and grandpa and my sister, Vriska but our daddy left when we were little so I don’t know what he was like. [tiny huff. She really wishes people would stop saying she was older] I’m 7. Nearly 8.

Are you? I can never tell with small children, and you do seem very small. So you're not really old enough to be in school right now. I don't suppose that will matter, since this is something someone will be able to reverse, or it'll wear off. It's a peculiar kind of curse, though.

Yes. I'm just short. And I am old enough to go to muggle school I just like Grandpa teaching me more. He lets me read the good books and doesn't try and tell me I'm too little to read them. And I keep telling people I'm supposed to be this age. It doesn't make any sensefor me to be older.

Just because you don't remember it, doesn't mean it isn't logical. Erasing someone's memory is actually quite easy, though doing it in a precise manner can be tricky. [explains, and then will let the librarian know they're going to the infirmary]
