[This is slightly awkward, just... slightly. There's a lot of inkblots and scratched out words to the point of where the whole beginning isn't readable. But she finally finds her words.]
Um. With all the weird things that are going on around here has anyone happened to have... like, the clothing they're wearing be changed? I know I didn't put on what I'm wearing today and that's really kind of disturbing that it happened without my knowledge. There's absolutely no way this could have happened, mind you.
Onto another topic, then, to make this... less awkward. With a lot of us coming from different countries and cultures, what kind of cultural things are different for you compared to other people around here? I know it's been a weird experience for me to get used to all the different things, considering it's not just the fact I'm from a different country but one part of my family are part of a distinct different culture. Even though we don't... really practice or adhere to it all the time, it's easier dad says.
Call me curious.
[Next part is specifically written in Polish, a little wonky but it's done for good reason instead of having to write on something else.]
Feliks. I got a letter today from home and you won't believe this but apparently one of the families from father's clan was asking about me. I'm really hoping it's not an attempt to ask what I think they want to ask.

A strapless dress appeared on me in the middle of Political Magic. And stilettos.
I was excused and given a spare robe to cover myself on my way back to my dormitory but I must have fallen three times with the shoes before I decided to take them off and run barefoot. I'm soaking my feet right now.
I hope you had better luck. And I'm assuming we're already familiar with each other's cultural situations. The sarcasm here is a bit different but it didn't take long to adjust.

It could have been worse, at least? You could be some kind of hairy bear and with muscles the size of melons, that'd be a bit weird.
Yeah, yeah I'd hope I'm familiar with your's by this time. If not then I did a pretty awful job of picking up on those things throughout the years, though I'm guessing a lot of what my family does still makes absolutely no sense to anyone else.
... Also, what color was the dress?[Scratched out enough to where she'd tried to not make it readable, but it still is if looked at closely.]no subject
I see that. Black. And you still didn't tell me what happened to you.

It was just some parts of clothing, no big deal other than it weirded me out a bit. [Nope. Not telling.]

Parts? Like a hat? Are you sure nobody simply pulled a prank on you while you were sleeping?
no subject
Yes, something like a hat. And I'm sure as I was wearing something completely different when I dressed this morning.

[Have a picture. With the most disgruntled face. And really not pulling off the whole "poise" thing very well. Fits his form nicely, but there is the tiniest tuft of chest hair that... well, he's a growing boy. Might be a slightly more pronounced than the last time they went swimming together.
Even if she's right about his figure.]"Something like a hat" is not a hat. What did you get?? You can't make a public inquiry like this and not expect to be questioned yourself. It can't possibly be more embarrassing than this.

and we are supposed to be moving away from the old ways ourselves but that is not always easy yes?
it feels as though no one here knows how to mind theyre own business and that they are constantly playing the white knight for one another
the adults are overprotective yet they lack the will to enforce there authority and those who DO are considered to be instantly evil
it feels very inconsistent and hard to follow

Mind my asking what kind of culture? Our's is a bit widespread and different depending on the country, but even then the country itself is a lot different than here.

we are hunters and soldiers
we fight for the joy of it and we are very strong people
our masters have told the elders that such things are no longer needed but even though they are fine with that they have been raised a certain way yes?
so they do not know how to raise us children any differently so we become much the same

I've heard the name mentioned before in conversations between my family and others, but nothing specific.
Your family sounds a lot more interesting than mine does, though I can understand the sentiment of not knowing how to raise someone differently if they have no way of doing so. My situation is a little... to put it kindly, there was a reason my father took my mother's last name instead.

nothing specific? really? that is unusual to hear
heh i imagine that is why the old mistress heterodyne killed her husband after her children were born sometimes the only way to stop a dark circle is to completely start over new again :)

To be fair, I wasn't really listening to them all that much as it felt like nothing more than idle gossip.
[Wait. What. Letting her quill rest on the paper to cause a particularly large inkblot.] That's... rather grim though, isn't it?

You're 16 aren't you? And pureblooded, and European... Many of the old families have old ideas on certain subjects. Are you from an old family as well?
[Filtered]
My mother's side isn't a very old family, I don't think, nothing special to speak of. My father's on the other hand is a very old one that goes as far back as to the early 1300s, I think.

But I wish you luck on your future plans. I hope your father is agreeable with them and doesn’t get in your way too much.
