[This is slightly awkward, just... slightly. There's a lot of inkblots and scratched out words to the point of where the whole beginning isn't readable. But she finally finds her words.]
Um. With all the weird things that are going on around here has anyone happened to have... like, the clothing they're wearing be changed? I know I didn't put on what I'm wearing today and that's really kind of disturbing that it happened without my knowledge. There's absolutely no way this could have happened, mind you.
Onto another topic, then, to make this... less awkward. With a lot of us coming from different countries and cultures, what kind of cultural things are different for you compared to other people around here? I know it's been a weird experience for me to get used to all the different things, considering it's not just the fact I'm from a different country but one part of my family are part of a distinct different culture. Even though we don't... really practice or adhere to it all the time, it's easier dad says.
Call me curious.
[Next part is specifically written in Polish, a little wonky but it's done for good reason instead of having to write on something else.]
Feliks. I got a letter today from home and you won't believe this but apparently one of the families from father's clan was asking about me. I'm really hoping it's not an attempt to ask what I think they want to ask.

I've heard the name mentioned before in conversations between my family and others, but nothing specific.
Your family sounds a lot more interesting than mine does, though I can understand the sentiment of not knowing how to raise someone differently if they have no way of doing so. My situation is a little... to put it kindly, there was a reason my father took my mother's last name instead.

nothing specific? really? that is unusual to hear
heh i imagine that is why the old mistress heterodyne killed her husband after her children were born sometimes the only way to stop a dark circle is to completely start over new again :)

To be fair, I wasn't really listening to them all that much as it felt like nothing more than idle gossip.
[Wait. What. Letting her quill rest on the paper to cause a particularly large inkblot.] That's... rather grim though, isn't it?

That so? Guess I'll call myself lucky, then, even if I still have this nagging feeling that I'd have been better off there.
... There's worse?
