[No further reply is given but a few minutes later he knocks on the door and pokes his head in. Once again he's back to his old vampire self but somehow looks a bit worse for wear. He actually looks tired and older than sixteen.]

"...hey."

Hello, sweetheart.

[She's waiting, leaning against the end of one of the beds. When Marshall walks in, she crosses to him, and pulls him into a hug without a word]

[marshall_lee]

[He lets himself get folded into her arms and putting his arms around her he rests his head on her shoulder and sighs. He's not quite sure what to say but he finally manages to get out]

"...I didn't realize how many things I miss out on."

[wavesofjade]

[She strokes one hand lightly over his hair, and gives a small nod]

I know, dear..

[marshall_lee]

[He sighs again.]

"I always miss some things but now I feel like I'm going to miss them even more."

[He pulls back a bit and looks at her.]

"I'm being selfish..are you doing okay?"

I'm..

[It's an odd hesitation. Dolores is usually so sure of herself, at least outwardly, and always quick to say she's just fine, but instead, she presses her lips together, and then shakes her head]

No.. No, Marshall, I don't believe I am.

[marshall_lee]

[Marshall nods, takes both her hands in his and moves them both over to sit down.]
"Whatever it was, it must have been pretty big. Do you want to talk about it?"

[She keeps a gentle hold on his hands, sitting across from him and squeezing his fingers]

[It's difficult, moreso than she'd imagined it would be]

These past few days, with the odd events.. I was affected, too. My son appeared here. He has been dead for twenty-six years.

[He puts a hand on top of hers and squeezes gently back and waits patiently for her to speak. When she finally does he's in shock.]

"Dolores...I'm so sorry. I..had no idea..."

[She shakes her head. Now, just like then, she has yet to show any kind of reaction to her son's departure. It's a strange, almost hollow kind of feeling, and it's even more peculiar to her that she's speaking of herself so freely]

Very few here do, even those who are aware of my condition.. It's easier, at times, to pretend I didn't have a life before.

I see. I can understand that I suppose. I don't think about what things were like when I was alive that much..it makes it harder sometimes.
[He gets quiet for a minute before quietly saying.]

I've never forgotten people that were important to me when I was alive. I didn't have many, but I remember them and I try to keep their memory alive.
