It doesn't matter how long they've been around. They're not sentient, therefore they wouldn't remember anything that happened to them. So no, I have not spoken to a rock. Principally because rocks don't talk. For good reason.

I jest. This doesn't talk, but what about a turtle? Its shell doesn't have to look much different, and so it would be easier to hide. But I imagine making a turtle talk is easier than making a rock talk.

I think they are? But I mean if you were personally only allowed a rock, there must be some reason, right? Just you specifically. So if you hid a rock-turtle somewhere, it would be more interesting.
