I know that you occasionally find the theory component a little hard to understand, but you do very well in the more practical aspects of the class. What's more important though is your personality.

Defence against the Dark Arts requires more than just knowing how to cast spells. It requires, more importantly, belief in yourself. Without them, you'll find it hardpressed to actually conjure up a Patronus when you're actually confronted by a Dementor, or to banish Boggarts with the Ridikulus charm. It's easy enough in a class atmosphere, where everything is done with safety measures in place, but in a real-life situation where the potential for harm is there, it's your faith in your abilities that will matter the most.

Of course, it's still important to learn your spells! But it's also important to always have conviction.

[Well that's...a rather surprising statement. It's a pleasant surprise though, and one that brings a small smile to his face. Teaching still isn't where his heart truly is; that would always belong to WAND and its mission to protect the world from Dark Arts but it's encouraging statements like this from students that helps him adjust further into his role of a professor, rather than a protector.]

I appreciate the compliment, Mr Odinson, though I do believe that there are other professors out there who are better teachers than I am. Still, it's a nice thought, so thank you.

Don't forget to clear up the misunderstanding as soon as possible. Try not to punch Mr Dox or Mr Jaegar either; I wouldn't like to see any of you in the Healing Ward. Just remember that there are better ways to solve disagreements than with physical retaliation.
