Has anyone read the Grimm Fairytales? I've always been quite fond of them; as a kid I found the story of the Strange Violinist rather interesting.

It makes me want to learn how to play. Perhaps I'll teach myself.

Not a very common instrument, well, not many people know how to play it.

Hardly, an electric piano and a grand piano would be the same if you're going by that.

Typically there are differences in strings as well.

Despite that, I should probably re-state what I said to: Not many people play much else than classical music on a violin. A fiddle has subtle differences as well as it is most often used for folk music.
