I don't know why I'm so worried about having a date to the Yule Ball. I bet there are tons of girls just waiting for a chance. All I have to do is sit back and wait for the girls to come to me.

Well, I'd hope not. I'd hope that you at least had some kind of interest in the girl you ask. If not romantic, at least someone you'd want as a friend.

Asking a friend is too easy. It's almost cheating.

Not really. I think it's actually harder work to make a friend start to see you as date potential.

Why? You already know each other so you obviously get along. A lot of relationships start out with being friends first.

I think it's easier that way..there's no pressure from the onset and you can gradually develop feelings for that person or just stay friends.
From then on it's just a matter of taking the next step.
