Out of curiosity, how much 'proper protection' do you feel is required? Stops short of a full-body suit of armour, I hope.

I doubt you would. Like you said, you don't want to. Plus, I'm tougher than people like to think.

Oh, a mouth guard and gloves should be all, I hope. The head gear makes me look rather like a potted plant.

I have no doubt as to your toughness. I'm just not very humble in regards to my strengths.

I could see that. Might be a good idea to go without the headgear since Professor Vargas might try to do a class about you and your odd foliage otherwise.

Sherlock, if I started that list, I doubt I'd ever finish it. But fine, here's an example. How about, I don't know, maybe the second time we met in person? The whole 'oh, don't worry, I can stop myself from drowning' bit. Just slightly cocky.

But you really been getting much better. Now, most of the time I can at least see where you're coming from when you give humbleness the two-finger salute.

You are never going to let the sink issue die. It will be my epitaph if you get a say in it. "Here lies Sherlock Holmes. He would have been here sooner if I hadn't pushed him away from a sink." I’ll be sure to return the favor if somehow you go before me. “Here lies the brave and true John Watson. He saved Sherlock Holmes from a sink.”

Have I made it ridiculous yet? I could write an epic poem on the heroic act.

Look, I didn't mean to make you tetchy about it. You just have to admit, as examples go, that one's way up there. Practically royalty as perfect examples go. Full on big damn crown and velvety cape, the whole thing.

But yes, if I do die before you, please make sure my tombstone reflects my sink-thwarting ways. My spirit will never rest otherwise.

I’m not tetchy. You simply interject it into every conversation whenever possible. You’re dying for me to thank you and bow to your fine acts of grace and I think if you don’t land me on my backside at least once in the coming match, I may continue to hear about the sink forever.

He can't hear it enough, really. Genius needs an audience but he's fine with a boo-ing crowd.
