There's nothing more to say about exams, except that they are coming up. So instead I'll write about something more interesting. I'm looking forward to the last Quidditch match, Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor. It'll be interesting and I'm sure a few people will end up in the Hospital wing. I'm not going to say that Ravenclaw will win, because Gryffindor obviously has some level of skill. It would be nice if we did win though.

The only other thing to look forward to is the up coming break. I'll be taking a trip to Volgograd with my Father. It's been a few years since I last went so it will be nice to see if anything's changed. I'm not looking forward to the humidity though. I may consider having to straighten my hair for most of the trip. We're going to stop in Moscow just to see the Bolshoi Ballet perform Giselle. It'll be nice to have a trip where nothing is obnoxiously loud and not every meal will be an eat contest.

Steadily, I'm falling under the idea that many people use the Doubling Charm to be cheap. Why would you duplicate your cup instead of just buying a second one? It's just going to decay over time. The origin of it is reasonable enough and I understand the practical and strategic uses, but from my studying, it seems most people misuse it. Maybe that's just "muggle" of me.

Also, after going over the duties and the time requirements, I'm thinking of becoming a prefect.

P.S. Welcome back, seems most of you are back in your right mind or body.

For those of you not in Ravenclaw and kept saying this day would never arrive.

It did, it started over Easter and now I can proudly say that I have almost completely grown in a moustache.

And you know what, I really make this look good.

[To be fair, it still looks a little whimpy, but there's no mistaking it's moustachiness.]

It only took two and a half weeks but I finally looked through all of the Valentine's that I received. I think a few students will never have a career in poetry. I'm sure undying love is a fine thing, but don't compare it to an insect that will survive the end of the world.

A word to the wise, just because I have red hair, doesn't mean you can talk to me with an Irish accent on the 17th.

I always used to think walls were so boring, you know? But I'm re-evaluating that opinion, in photography anyway. I never noticed how interesting they could be sometimes. Trees too, they're pretty photogenic - I'm jealous!

Anyway, yeah, I'm still up for taking pictures if anyone wants any?

Hey, everyone no doubt had an amazing fortnight off. I know I certainly had some, we'll go with, well, eye-opening in weird ways I guess.

And then we have the new term coming up. I've thought of some new plays and I'm looking forward to taking on Gryffindor and Slytherin, And I'm going to be taking you both more seriously than I did Hufflepuff.

And thanks to the one with the wide forehead an blonde hair. I will actually be in the Duelling competition that's coming up. Which really is an exercise in stupid, but hey, pretty sure I can make an impression, I always do.

WELL I'M GETTING THIS OUT OF THE WAY FIRST BECAUSE IT'S THE NOT IMPORTANT PART OF THIS WHOLE ENTRY.

IT'S PROBABLY A GOOD THING NO ONE DIED OR WAS HORRIBLE INJURED OVER THE WINTER BREAK, EVEN THOUGH A FEW OF YOU DESERVED IT DUE TO OVERWHELMING STUPIDITY ON A SCALE THAT NOT EVEN THE DINOSAURS COULD COMPREHEND.

NOW, CAN WE GET TO THE POINT NOW THAT THOSE SENTIMENTS HAVE BEEN POSTED AND OBSERVED? WELL I'M MOVING ON ANYWAY.

BECAUSE IT'S MORE THAN A LITTLE OBVIOUS THAT *EVERYONE* HERE IS A SLAVE TO THEIR MOST PRIMAL AND POWERFUL URGES, AND PROBABLY SCREWING THINGS UP, I AM GOING TO BE OVERWHELMINGLY GENEROUS TO THE SCHOOL AND OFFER MY SERVICES. I AM SOMETHING OF A ROMANCE MASTER, I CARRY SUCH SKILL THAT THAT IF YOU WERE EVER TO SEE ME AT FULL FORCE YOUR EYES WOULD SHOOT OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND YOUR JAW WOULD DISLOCATE IN SHOCK AND AWE OF ME.

SO, IF ANYONE IS HAVING ANY RELATIONSHIP TROUBLES, COME TO ME AND I'LL HELP YOU KEEP YOUR DATE OR EVEN HELP YOU GET AROUND TO ACTUALLY TELLING SOMEONE YOU ACTUALLY LIKE THEM INSTEAD OF JUST MOONING OVER THEM FROM A DISTANCE LIKE THE SADDEST AND UGLIEST PUPPY IN THE STORE THAT WAS NEVER BOUGHT.

I don't think my feet have ever been this sore, even after ballet lessons. I'm going to cancel dancing lessons for tomorrow, or else I won't be able to walk next week. Sorry Usagi and Clint, but my toes are more important. If you need help, maybe a teacher can help out tomorrow.

Tony, I need your opinion on something. I'll give you... five questions in regards to the situation.

Sent away for two pairs of boxing gloves. Not fond of waiting. Anyone here happen to own a pair and have them on hand?

For purchase, lease, or to borrow.

[Someone has been spending a lot of his free time on one of the Slytherin common room sofas, keeping to himself and a couple of texts on Arithmancy. If it wasn't obvious by the dark circles under his eyes, he had not been sleeping enough and probably spending far too much time writing papers, testing theories and reading.]

I've taken notice to the startling reality that hardly anyone understands anything about Arithmancy other than it being a class, and those that do have a plethora of misconceptions about the study.

Bridget Wenlock first discovered the magical properties of seven - many might know how seven is generally a rather lucky number. Stir a potion seven times do a little jig and you've got one lucky batch of whatever you're making - that was me being facetious, I hardly advise dancing whilst making potions. That doesn't alter the fact that the number seven is used in potion making and even in other fields of magic aside from Arithmancy and Potions.

Most scoff at the idea of being able to predict the future through science or through magic, but what you get with Arithmancy is an intriguing mix of the two. A practical way of going about it, one might think. )

Quidditch was thrilling! I almost got knocked off my broom but I held on long enough to get up right again. I didn't break anything but my whole are is sore with a giant bruise on my shoulder. I'm going to have to drag or float my bag around until it hurts less. If it gets annoying, I'll just tough it out.

The Yule Ball is coming up, and I think I'll buy a dress when those store owners come to the castle. Usagi, we should start thinking of dress ideas, after we practice some charms though.

Really, now, Hufflepuffs, you can call yourselves Badger Moles all you want. We all know who played the cleaner match out there yesterday. Flinging Bludgers at the Chasers' heads inside the goal-scoring area? That's hardly anything to cheer and stomp about.

Natasha, Tony, I hope you're both all right. And same for you, Vladimir. I honestly wasn't aiming to hurt you.

As for the rest of team Ravenclaw: we played the cleaner, tighter match yesterday. That's something to be proud of, all right? We're not the ones bragging about winning a match where we tried to take someone's heads off.

I have been... not myself lately, yes? I have not been sleeping well. In lieu of upcoming quidditch match, I would like assistance in the methods you all use for calming down and getting a restful night's sleep.

Is there some sort of potion, maybe? Or if not potion, maybe some sort of drink or technique that I could use? I have tried warm milk, counting sheep... but that just frustrates me. Your assistance would be much appreciated!

Who here has a sewing kit? Or, actually, who's really good at mending spells? I've been trying to do them myself but my mends aren't holding up all that great.

If anyone can help or has advice on how to make the mends stronger, I'd really appreciate it.

Hogsmeade is next weekend, and I'll skip Quidditch practice to go. I don't care if we play the week after, I'll do late night practices after classes if that's the case. I'm ready for the match regardless of if I skip a practice.

The bonfire the other night was fun, I went through the fire first thing. Doing something with the possibility of danger gives such an adrenaline rush. Finding out your friend burnt off his eyebrows after is a bit of a downer though. I've done my fair share of dumb ideas as well, and I'm not talking about letting someone use an apple on top of my head for target practice. That's fairly simple compared to attempting to jump from one broom to another broom while in mid flight, that was fun though.

I'VE BEEN SEVERELY SLACKING IN ASSIGNING HOMEWORK AND FOR THAT I APOLOGIZE, NOT THAT MAY OF YOU HAVE REALLY MINDED. SO!

THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL SPAN ALL YEARS AND ALL HOUSES. I WANT YOU ALL TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OWN FAMILY HISTORY AND TRACK DOWN THE FIRST TRACES OF MAGIC IN YOUR FAMILY. FROM THAT I WANT YOU TO MAKE A FAMILY TREE THAT STRETCHES DOWN FROM THEM TO YOU. I'M AWARE THAT THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF SIBLINGS AND COUSINS AND OTHER RELATIONS HERE AT HOGWARTS SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP FROM ONE ANOTHER WHEN FILLING IN GAPS. THE SAME GOES FOR FAMILY NOT AT SCHOOL. WRITE HOME, ASK QUESTIONS, ASK FOR FAMILY HEIRLOOMS OR PAPERS YOU CAN STUDY.

FOR STUDENTS WITH A HEAVY MAGICAL LINEAGE, DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE NON-MAGICAL RELATIVES AND THOSE WITHOUT A LONG HISTORY OF MAGIC IN THEIR FAMILY, DO A BIT OF SEARCHING. YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU MIGHT FIND A GREAT-UNCLE TWICE REMOVED WHO HAD A HABIT OF TURNING TAX COLLECTORS INTO NEWTS.

ONCE ALL IS SAID AND DONE YOU'LL PRESENT YOUR FINDINGS IN FRONT OF THE CLASS. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK HERE OR IN PERSON. MY DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN.

[Added later:]

SINCE I'VE BEEN GETTING A LOT OF THESE QUESTIONS I FEEL LIKE IT'LL BE EASIER TO JUST LEAVE THE ANSWERS HERE.

1. PRESENTATION TO THE CLASS IS NOT MANDATORY IF YOU'RE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH IT. I'M OT GOING TO FORCE ANYONE INTO PUBLIC SPEAKING AND IT WILL NOT EFFECT YOUR GRADE.

2. STUDENTS WHO WERE ADOPTED MAY DO THEIR TREES BASED ON THEIR ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. FAMILY DOESN'T END WITH BLOOD AFTER ALL.

3. MUGGLEBORN STUDENTS SHOULD DO THE ASSIGNMENT AS NORMAL, JUST KEEP A LOOK OUT IN YOUR RESEARCH FOR ANY POSSIBLE MAGICAL RELATIVES.
