To our darling Fifth and Seventh years about to take their OWLs and NEWTs, don't worry, it's not the end of the world if you fail! You can always become a janitor or a grounds keeper, perhaps even drive a bus!

That being said, if any of you needs a bit of reassurance, Dolores and I have the Calming Draughts ready but be warned that we will not be dispensing them so often as to let you become addicted to them.

Also, if I find another pair of students attempting to make babies in broom closets as a means of destressing, I will give you detention with one of the potions professors about the birds and the bees and you will have to write an essay on the matter of arousal controlling substances. I'm sure you don't want that on top of your exams, ja?

Welcome back to school my darlings! I hope you enjoyed your break.

Now, spring is well on its' way and the little flowers are popping up everywhere - wonderful, ja? Unfortunately for some of you I know hay-fever is a problem. Never fear! I have prepared the brews for saving your sinuses from killing your ability to function. Come by the Hospital Wing when able and I will administer the appropriate doses and they should last for the full month.

If you make a love potion at least research the potion properly first - the next student I have come in with boils growing on their backside thanks to one gone wrong will be given to Professor Rhydderch for extra Potions lessons. If I catch any students brewing love potions on-campus, the same will still happen.

And then I will send you to Professor Donoghue for sex education.

Ah, it's that time of year again! The Yule ball is coming and I'm sure everyone will look beautiful! This is to the students who need some help putting their Yule ball outfit together - Mamma is more than happy to help and since everyone has been good and staying healthy, I have more than enough time to make some dresses or at least help with fixing any old ones you might have.

Feel free to ask me about any mending spells here or sharing your designs, darlings~!

It seems like everyone is back to normal now which is good! If anyone is feeling worried, ill or still suffering from side-effects of the transformations, feel free to come visit me in the Hospital Wing and Mamma will have a look at you. If you're just a bit confused on something that is still effecting you and you don't want to see me (you break Mamma's heart) you can describe the symptoms here and I will try to help sort it out.

33 sucks.

Out of all of the numbers out there, it's probably the worst number by far. I mean, what's even the point of it? 32 is better. 31 is better. 33 is absolutely pointless in its existence. And it's an odd number. Odd. Odd numbers suck, but 33 is the suckiest odd number out of all of them.

There's nothing even ironic about it. I can find irony in every other number. But not this one. It's like anti-irony in its most natural form.

We're wizards, we should be able to magically take this number out of existence.

Someone invent a spell for that.

So I'm a bit late in making this introduction.

Hi.

I'm Professor Captor, and I'll be teaching Flying. I know it's a bit late to just show up and start teaching, so I'll apologize for that. There were a few complications, but I'm here now.

I'm also offering one on one practice, if anyone wants to really improve their techniques, or are too nervous and shy to ask for help in class. So, just. Feel free to contact me if you need help.

Flying classes will resume on Monday, so I hope to see everyone in this coming week.

THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL SPAN ALL YEARS AND ALL HOUSES. I WANT YOU ALL TO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OWN FAMILY HISTORY AND TRACK DOWN THE FIRST TRACES OF MAGIC IN YOUR FAMILY. FROM THAT I WANT YOU TO MAKE A FAMILY TREE THAT STRETCHES DOWN FROM THEM TO YOU. I'M AWARE THAT THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF SIBLINGS AND COUSINS AND OTHER RELATIONS HERE AT HOGWARTS SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP FROM ONE ANOTHER WHEN FILLING IN GAPS. THE SAME GOES FOR FAMILY NOT AT SCHOOL. WRITE HOME, ASK QUESTIONS, ASK FOR FAMILY HEIRLOOMS OR PAPERS YOU CAN STUDY.

FOR STUDENTS WITH A HEAVY MAGICAL LINEAGE, DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE NON-MAGICAL RELATIVES AND THOSE WITHOUT A LONG HISTORY OF MAGIC IN THEIR FAMILY, DO A BIT OF SEARCHING. YOU NEVER KNOW WHERE YOU MIGHT FIND A GREAT-UNCLE TWICE REMOVED WHO HAD A HABIT OF TURNING TAX COLLECTORS INTO NEWTS.

2. STUDENTS WHO WERE ADOPTED MAY DO THEIR TREES BASED ON THEIR ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. FAMILY DOESN'T END WITH BLOOD AFTER ALL.

3. MUGGLEBORN STUDENTS SHOULD DO THE ASSIGNMENT AS NORMAL, JUST KEEP A LOOK OUT IN YOUR RESEARCH FOR ANY POSSIBLE MAGICAL RELATIVES.

As some of you may know, Sybille's thirty sixth birthday will be coming this week on the eighth. If you're a friend or acquaintance of hers, I invite you to join us for dinner in Hogsmeade if you are able.
