As much as it pains me to bother the majority of you during summer holidays [read: I wanted to avoid everyone.] I could use some suggestions.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to how I'm meant to entertain a fourteen year old for such a long time. Neither of the ones in my custody seem particularly interested in...anything.

But they still complain. To me. As if they want me to do something.

And I want them to stop.

As much as I enjoyed getting to know my fellow professors better
It's wonderful to be home

Now summer homework! I furgot to assign any so I'll be giving everyone a quick assignment I expect on the first day of class.
Find one magical creature that lives near you and describe them in as much detail as you can. I will not be counting off for short descriptions of fast moving or elusive creatures but I do know the different children. I can see how much effort you put into your essays.

And no Nepeta, you may not use kneazels. <3

[FILTERED TO TEACHERS]

For any that are interested, I've been thinking of having a little get together. Nothing fancy, just a few drinks. I'm planning it for most the day on the 11th, starting just after noon. You can of course attend at whatever time you please.

I would ask that any that got into fights with Artollo on the trip please not attend or if you trully wish to attend, bring your manners. Understood?

Hello, darlings! I hope you are all having a very fun and safe summer holiday so far. My name is Milla Vodello, and starting in the fall I'll be your new Charms professor! Well, for some of you, anyway. I will be sharing classes with Miss Matteris, and I'm not sure how we are splitting them yet. Don't worry, though, I'm sure you'll get just as rewarding a class whichever one of us you're assigned to, darlings! I am looking forward to meeting you when the new term starts! And of course, if you'd like, you can get a head start by talking to me with the journals. Don't expect me to play favorites, though! [ And she laughs brightly. Gosh, sure is lots of friendliness and cheer in here. ]

So, who here is doing something fun for their holidays, mm?

[ filtered to teachers; ]

Hello, hello! I haven't played with this too much yet, but I certainly see a lot of familiar faces from my own days at school here. Unless my eyes are playing tricks, of course! What a lovely coincidence, that so many of us from around the same time are back here now. It's almost like a reunion! Anyway, how is everyone feeling about the retreat?

Congratulations on surviving another year, students. I'm sure you'll appreciate your break. However, I would not want for you to become bored.

First, Second, Third and Fourth Years:
Review chapters three through to six of The Essential Defence Against the Dark Arts. Be sure to remember the essentials, you will be greeted with a quiz.

Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Years:
Review chapter nine of The Essential Defence Against the Dark Arts with great care. There will be a paper in regards to it.

On top of that, because you will be without the use of magic throughout the holidays, I would like for you to consider a question.
In a hypothetical dangerous situation, how would you defend yourself without the use of magic? I expect answers sent to this entry, those who fail to will be finding the answer the hard way.

[Private to Teachers]
If any of the more childish members of the staff have plans for the upcoming teacher prison camp, take my advice, just don't.
We're adults, honestly. If any of you have an nasty little plans you should consider a career change.

Good morning students.

My name is Professor Giordano, and as of the new school year I will be taking over your Herbology classes. Hopefully we will all see eye to eye and the classes will pass without interruption or trouble. I expect a level of maturity, especially from students not in their first year.

As for summer work, I will be kind this year. As many of you have already gone home for the summer there is little in the way of practical homework I can assign. I do however expect all students to revise the information they have studied for previous years as well as begin learning the theoretical sides of what they will need to know this year. Yes, there will be quizes in the first lesson, and I expect high if not flawless marks.

As for exams, I may not be in charge of marking your papers this year, but I will be overlooking them. For any student I feel is having trouble and not performing at the expect level I will be contacting them personally.

Enjoy your summer, and come back ready to learn upon re-arrival.

[The voice that speaks from the journals sounds stern, even as it's rather smooth, even. This is the voice of a lady who does not mess around.]

Hello, everyone. My name is Professor Constance Peixes, and come fall term, I'll be serving as one of the Astronomy professors. I look forward to working with you all.

However, I wish to warn you that I expect a lot out of my students. In return, you will have the experience of learning from one of the Ministry's finest astronomers.

As such, over the summer, I am assigning a simple task to each of you.

For those of you going into second year through fourth year: in the early morning of 15th July, the moon will be hiding Jupiter from view. I want all of you to observe this event, if possible, and write an essay on your observations.

Fourth through sixth-years: the preceding assignment, and one other: the constellation Cepheus will be visible through the summer. I would like you to track the passage of the constellation, noting the position relative to its closest neighboring constellations and write an essay on your observations. I would also like to see your tracking charts.

Sixth and seventh-years: Both the prior assignments. In addition, each of you are to pick two additional constellations and track their patterns over the summer. Both your charts and your reports will be due on the first class of fall term.

I wish you all an excellent summer, and will look forward to meeting you in the fall.
