As much as it pains me to bother the majority of you during summer holidays [read: I wanted to avoid everyone.] I could use some suggestions.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to how I'm meant to entertain a fourteen year old for such a long time. Neither of the ones in my custody seem particularly interested in...anything.

But they still complain. To me. As if they want me to do something.



And I want them to stop.

Hm. Perhaps invest in some Muggle technology? Television, video games, and the internet do wonders for bored teenagers.

Indeed you did. I believe Miss Serket intends to visit Eridan for some time. [Well, no. She's actually been invited by Murdoc, but he doesn't want to seem inappropriate, he's just worried about the girl.]
I'm not entirely sure how any of those things work and Eridan has a tendancy to reject or break anything new or different.

What happened? Why isn't she with Sybille?

Hm. Well, I'll be here in Oxford with the girls most of the summer. Some company their own age might do Vriska and Eridan good. The town's lovely this time of year, and it's close enough to London that a day in the city is easy enough to arrange.

Nothing that any other parent wouldn't have done. Just a small misunderstanding. I just feel like the transition may be a bit much for both of them and Eridan could use company.

Is that an invitation? I'm sure we'd love to visit. Honestly, any chance to get out of the house sounds marvellous and [THE LONGEST PAUSE.]
I would like to meet them, if possible.

If you insist upon it, I suppose I can take some lessons.

And yes, it is. To be honest, I've been keeping myself in the lab so long I need to learn how to be sociable again before fall term starts, so I could use the company as much as it sounds like you could.

well, you should meet them, Murdoc.

And yes, I do insist. They can be lifesavers for keeping teenagers out if your hair.

I'm not accustomed to having such long holidays, so I'm actually insanely bored. Eridan seems to expect something and I haven't a clue what it is, he doesn't seem interested in previous suggestions.

I know that feeling. I'm glad my older lab was able to arrange for me to come in during summer days, and the girls are used to making summer arrangements.

...they do. I talked with them after I spoke with you. I should warn you, Feferi has taken it better than Meenah. She may not want to see you right away.

That's alright. I wasn't expecting them to take to me straight away. I've been a bit wary of meeting them myself, I'd hate to upset them.

I highly doubt Feferi will do anything but hug you and be enthusiastic.

...don't mind Meenah. She's...well, she's at that difficult age. She doesn't take well to me, much less anyone else. I think her sister is the only one she takes to at all.

Enthusiastic hugging? You'll forgive me if I wonder where she picked up a habit like that. I suppose this a case of nurture over nature, isn't it?
She sounds as if she might be a good influence on Eridan.

Funny. Meenah is begining to sound an awful lot like someone I knew in school. Does she have a lot of hair, too?

She might have gotten it from her grandmother. Either way, she's truly a sweet girl. I think she will be a good influence on him.

She certainly does, doesn't she? She does, but she wears it in braids.

I look forward to having them meet, then. Hopefully Eridan will take to her. He is incredibly fussy, afterall.

She sounds like an interesting sort of girl.

WE USED TO TAKE NEPETA CAMPING ALL THE TIME WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER.
THAT COULD BE FUN.

OR FISHING! JUST KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM IF YOU USE A BOAT.

[He took Karkat fishing once and he kind of fell out of the boat and almost drowned.]

Camping sounds interesting.
[And he can get out of the damn house, yes.]
Eridan is a strong swimmer. In fact, I'm certain he'd be inclined to jump in rather than fall in.

I'm unsure as to whether [There's a pause as he realises he has no idea whether he should say he's planning on kidnapping Vriska for a little while.] his companion is able to swim. I suppose I could try teaching but that may prove to be a bit risky.
